Autumn Splendor

October, baptize me with leaves!
Swaddle me in corduroy
and nurse me with split pea soup.

October, tuck tiny candy bars in my pockets
and carve my smile into a thousand pumpkins.
 O autumn! O teakettle! O grace!

To everything on earth
there is a season,
A time for every purpose
under the sun.

From the beginning
of life's journey
to the finish,
We run the race
until our days are done.

There is a time for mourning
and a time to dance,
Every favor, every blessing
we're receiving is a
gift of God,
it does not happen
by chance.

For our God,
in never failing mercy,
watches over us
from day to dawning day.

In His hands
He hold's life's
changing seasons
As time continues on
without delay.

"How great are
Your works, Lord!
How profound
Your purpose!"
Psalm 92:6

Abraham Hunter

 The trees around the lake
Adorned in shades of Fall,
In crimson, rust, and yellow,
Standing so straight and tall.

Adorned in colors of Autumn,
Reflecting all of their glory,
Shining down into the lake
Telling Mother Nature's story.

And further on along the road
Were trees still dressed in green,
Refusing to be hurried,
In Autumn colors to be seen.

The landscape was breathtaking,
Spreading out over the land,
The work of a Master Artist
With a very loving hand.
-Erna Gwillim
