"You can't love God without loving the Jewish people."
-Corrie Ten Boom
The nation's largest teacher's union-the National Education Association-
has altered its 2025 education guide to downplay the persecution of
the Jewish people during the Holocaust. According to Young Voices
contributor Greg Finkel, the NEA is advising teachers to say that
Hitler's Third Reich and its associates exterminated, "minority groups".
I find this new proposal by the NEA both absurd and pathetic,
when, with the exception of a few, almost every nation in Europe,
complied with the Nazis to send their Jewish citizens to the death camps.
This fact alone is what makes the Holocaust the singular most extraordinary
tragedy for the Jewish people in the course of modern world history.
This is also why places like Auschwitz and Dachau still stand, and
other places where concentration and extermination camps once stood
have now become memorial sites-to remind people from all over the
world that those who do not remember the past are condemned to
repeat it, but more importantly, to remind us of the capability of
appalling wickedness so often found within the fallen human heart.
