To The Editor:
I think I would have more respect for someone like Senator Barack Obama if he came right out and declared himself an atheist who believes in nothing, as opposed to his questionable stance as a self-proclaimed, “committed Christian.”
It seems to me that he is making a mockery of the Christian faith with his deliberate pandering to pro-abortion groups like Planned Parenthood, not to mention his voting twice against the Infants Born Alive Act.
Initially sponsored by Senator Rick Santorum (R-Pennsylvania) the Born Alive Infants Act which would protect infants that survive abortion and guarantee them medical treatment.
Senator Obama cares only about upholding “a woman’s right to choose” and protecting the tenets of Roe vs. Wade. He even refused to answer the simple question about when life begins in the womb. When asked this at the recent Saddleback Forum, Senator Obama’s smug response was, “It’s above my pay grade.” What exactly does that mean? Any fifth grader could tell him that life begins when a sperm of a man fertilizes the egg of a woman. It’s called Conception.
If the vast majority of American voters think that the economy, the domestic energy crisis, and ending the war in the Middle East are more important issues than the sanctity of human life, than we are not a land of freedom and democracy for all people.
The taking of human life through abortion is a heinous act. In a case of rape or incest, why should the victim be violated twice, first by the rapist and then by the abortionist? What about the rights of the unborn child? Aren’t they as much of a victim as the violated woman? I am not trying to judge anyone. I just believe that abortion is never the right choice.
Furthermore, don’t look at the booming abortion industry to be concerned about a woman’s mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. They could care less about the suffering of the victims of abortion. All they care about is the big money they are making by keeping the abortion mills operating at full steam in America. And unfortunately, Senator Obama has promised to protect this flourishing enterprise of death at all costs.
