Flashback Friday: The Ballad Of The Green Berets

In keeping with my earlier post today honoring those who served in Vietnam,
this spirited ballad was the number one song in America this last week of
March in 1966. Written and performed by Staff Sergeant Barry Sadler,
"The Ballad Of The Green Berets" was one of the few songs of the
war years to cast the military in a positive light.

And They Crucified Him

"And they took Jesus and led Him away; so He went out, bearing His own cross,
to the spot called The Place of the Skull-in Hebrew it is called Golgotha.
There they crucified Him, and with Him two others-one on either side
and Jesus between them."

National Vietnam Veterans Day 2024

Today we remember those courageous Americans who
fought in one of the most controversial conflicts of all time.

Many who fought in the Vietnam War were not treated with the
same respect and honor given to returning veterans who had fought
in previous wars.  This was a national tragedy.
 Facing the open hostility
 and mockery
of their fellow Americans was perhaps worse than any of
the hardships these soldiers and sailors had endured in battle.

I was a very little girl during the worst fighting in Vietnam so I do not remember
much of the war.  However, I do know that many of the young men who served in
Southeast Asia from my area enlisted in the Armed Forces, eager to serve
their nation.  Some of these same young men never came home again.

In 2017, the Vietnam Veterans Recognition Act, sponsored by
Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pennsylvania) was passed in Congress and
signed into law by President Donald Trump. The act commemorated
the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War.

"I cherish this opportunity to recall, with humility, the sacrifices our veterans
made for our freedom and our Nation's strength," proclaimed President Trump.

Today I echo his sentiment with this post in honoring all the American men
and women veterans of the war.  I remember the 58,000 names inscribed
on the black granite walls of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington DC,
many who suffered terrible cruelty as prisoners of war, and those
who are still unaccounted for and listed as Missing In Action.

Your valiant service to this  nation will never be forgotten.

God bless you all and thank you for my freedom.

In time of silver rain

The earth puts forth new life again,

Green grasses grow

And flowers lift their heads,

All over the plain

The wonder spreads

Of Life!

Of Life!

Of Life!

In the time of silver rain

The butterflies lift silken winds

To catch a rainbow cry,

And trees put forth new leaves to sing

In joy beneath the sky

As down the roadway

Passing boys and girls

Go singing, too,

In time of silver rain  When spring

And life

Are New.

persecution suffered by the Jewish people, which will increase significantly
during the time known as Jacob's Trouble.  The last three and a half years
of the Tribulation will be the most destructive of all time, as God pours

Wednesday's Word: For Zion's Sake I Will Not Hold My Peace

"For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I
will not rest until her imputed righteousness and vindication go forth
as brightness, and her salvation radiates as a burning torch.

And the nations shall see your righteousness and vindication, your rightness
and justice-not your own, but His ascribed to you-and all kings shall
behold your salvation and glory; and you shall be called a new name
which the mouth of the Lord shall name.

You shall also be so beautiful and prosperous as to be thought of as a
crown of glory and honor in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem,
exceedingly beautiful in the hand of God.

You, Judah, shall no more be termed Forsaken, nor shall your land be
called Desolate any more.  But you shall be called Hephzibah-My delight
is in her-and your land be called Beulah -married- for the Lord delights
in you, and your land shall be married, owned and protected by the Lord.

Greater Grace Than Our Sin

"Therefore, since we are justified, (acquitted, declared righteous, and given
right standing with God) through faith, let us grasp the fact that we have
the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy, peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah.

Through Him also we have our access by faith into grace, ( the state
of God's favor) in which we firmly and safely stand. And let us rejoice
and exult in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God."

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,

Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!

Yonder on Calvary's mount outpoured,

There where the blood of the Lamb was spilled.

Grace, grace, God's grace,

Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;

Grace, grace, God's grace,

Grace that is greater than all sin.

Sin and despair, like the sea waves cold,

Threaten the soul with infinite loss;

Grace that is greater, yes, grace untold,

Points to the refuge, the mighty cross.

Grace, grace, God's grace,

Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;

Grace, grace, God's grace,

Grace that is greater than all sin.

Dark is the stain that we cannot hide.

What can avail to wash it away?

Look! There is flowing a crimson tide,

Brighter than snow you may be today.

Grace, grace, God's grace,

Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;

Grace, grace, God's grace,

Grace that is greater than all sin.

Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace,

Freely bestowed on all who believe!

You that are longing to see His face,

Will you this moment His grace receive?

"Amazing Grace"

By Artist Bill Stephens

Welcome to possibly the most powerful work of Art ever conceived,
for here you find life and death in one painting. You find suffering
and  yet healing. There is no religion here and no false hopes.
Here is helpless humanity in the hand of the bleeding Savior.
You find being forsaken and yet found.

Here is man's hatred displayed. You see judgment displayed.
And you may see the infant as being aborted ( as so many are)
but that infant is really you.  And what else do you see?
There is peace.  Here is the Creator and the Creation.

This is the only place unconditional love is found and where
grace is fully realized.  And although most may see this as
Christian Art, it is really Jewish Art, for that Savior is
the Jewish Messiah whose name is "Yeshua".

And it is He alone who is the Maker of the Heaven and the Earth.

He is the ONE who deserves all honor and praise,  for He alone
gave all He could give to save some from the Lake of Fire
 which burns forever and ever.

This is my utmost for His highest.

Full Worm Moon Tonight

This year's Full Worm Moon reached peak illumination
in the wee hours of this morning or around 3:00 AM (EST).
Although I was not up at this early hour, I did see the moon
setting in the clear western sky just before dawn.

A spectacular sight to see!

Why is March's moon called the Worm Moon?  According to the Old Farmer's Almanac,
it was thought that this moon referred to the appearance of earthworms crawling out
of the newly thawed earth in the springtime.  This, of course, attracts robins, who
are said to be the first birds of the season to return after winter.

However, more research has revealed that in the 1760's a man named Captain
Jonathan Carver visited the Naudowessie (Dakota) and other Indian tribes
and later wrote that the name, "Worm Moon" refers to a different sort of worm
beetle larvae which would begin to emerge during the thawing of the bark of
trees and other places where worms hide from the cold.

The Full Paschal Moon

Resurrection Sunday or Easter occurs on the first Sunday after what is known
as the Paschal Full Moon, or the first full moon of springtime. This month's
full moon proceeded the vernal or spring equinox on March 19th.

According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, in the year AD 325,
an ecclesiastical Full Moon calendar was created by the western Church,
however, it did not take into account all the factors of lunar motion that is
known about today.  Much of Christendom in the western nations
still follows with this lunar cycle tradition.

In the eastern Christian churches which follow the Julian calendar for
their religious observations, Easter is often celebrated at a later date.

The word, "Paschal" is a Greek derivative of the Hebrew word, "Pesach"
meaning "Passover".  This year's celebration of Passover will begin at
sundown on April 22, 2024 during next month's full moon.

🌝I hope the skies are clear tonight where you are!🌝

"...(we) bring into captivity every thought to (make it) obey the Messiah."
(2 Corinthians 10:5)

As we patrol each day through this escalating conflict called life,
we are vulnerable-susceptible to the temptations all around us.
Though we have the mind of Messiah and have been made new
in Him, our flesh remains in constant jeopardy from the
unceasing barrage against us.

Every day, we are overtly and subtly bombarded by thoughts
and images from the world. They do their best to infest our minds
and violate our inner being, enticing us to behave in ways
contrary to who we are in Messiah.

Against such attacks, our only hope is to bring "into captivity every thought
to (make it) obey the Messiah."  We cannot allow our thoughts to re-enslave us,
but instead we must turn the tables and take control of our minds. We have
to remember that sin and participation in the flesh begin with entertaining-
and then embracing-the thoughts that lead to sin.

When we take every thought captive, not allowing ourselves to dwell on
the memories of our former ways, we will not yield again to the yearnings
of the flesh.  But not only must we take each thought captive, we must also,
"(make it) obey the Messiah."

This is a spiritual act of warfare.  We capture our thoughts by enslaving our
minds to the Spirit.  Then, as we remember who we truly are in Messiah and focus
on His righteous ways, we are able to force each sinful notion into submission.

When the thoughts of the world begin to infiltrate our ranks, what will be
our response? Will we befriend them and set them free, so that they can rally
to terrorize us another day?  Or will we take every single thought captive,
and by the Spirit,  "(make it) obey?"

Abba, Father, teach me how to effectively take every thought captive and
make it obey the Messiah. Give me the self-control and self-awareness to know
what is happening in my mind and be able to submit it fully to You.

I praise You, Adonai, for You alone are the captor of men's minds and the
deliverer of men's souls. Reveal to me my hidden temptations, Lord, that
I may draw them out into the open and deal with them once and for all.

Thank You, Abba, for maturing me and leading me to walk
 victoriously in Your freedom...

Behold, the Lord to Zion rides,

And crowds hosannas sing;

They spread their garments in the way,

And hail Him as a king.

O Zion, blind with earthly pride,

Why couldst thou not behold

The Christ of God, whom sage and seer

From age to age foretold?

A king indeed, but not to reign

By power of earthly might;

The glory of whose royal state

Is hid from carnal sight.

Whose subjects are the souls of men

From thrall of darkness won;

Whose kingdom knows no bounds, within

The dawn and setting sun.

Behold thy king to Zion rides

Where He the cross shall bear;

And on that throne with blood bedecked,

His robe of purple wear:

Where slaves to sin His love shall view,

And from their bondage rise

To noble fealty , by the power

Of loving sacrifice.

Happy Purim 2024

"For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance shall
arise for the Jews from elsewhere, but you and your father's house
shall perish. And who knows but that you have come to the kingdom
for such a time as this and for this very occasion?"
(Esther 4:14)

Esther goes before King Ahasuerus

The festival of Purim, also called, "Lots" begins at sundown tonight in Israel
and is celebrated by Jewish people around the world.  Esther is the story of
a beautiful girl named Hadassah, a Jewess, who is chosen from among
thousands of other nubile young women to become the new wife of
King Ahasuerus, the ruler of the Persian Empire, replacing the disposed
Queen Vashti.  Scheming Haman, whom the king had recently
promoted as a member of the royal court to serve above all princes,
became incensed after Esther's cousin, Mordecai, a righteous Jew,
who bowed only before the Lord, refused to bow down before him.

Haman persuaded King Ahasuerus to decree that all Jews throughout
the vast empire be killed on a certain day which was chosen by lot.
However, in an act of tremendous faith and courage, Esther went
before her husband and asked him to come to a banquet at her
palace that night.  She also invited the wily Haman.

Esther invited her husband and Haman to dinner again the next night,
during which she exposed Haman's wicked plot against herself and
her people.  King Ahasuerus then ordered the wicked Haman to
be executed on the same gallows he had prepared for Mordecai.

Although God is not mentioned by name in the Book of Esther,
His great love and mercy for His covenant people is apparent
throughout this wonderful Old Testament story.

I heard a thousand blended notes,

While in a grove I sate reclined,

In that sweet mood when pleasant thoughts

Bring sad thoughts to the mind.

To her fair works did Nature link

The human soul that through me ran;

And much it grieved my heart to think

What man has made of man.

Through primrose tufts, in that green bower,

The periwinkle trailed its wreaths;

And 'tis my faith that every flower

Enjoys the air it breathes.

The birds around me hopped and played,

Their thoughts I cannot measure:-

But the least motion which they made

It seemed a thrill of pleasure.

The budding twigs spread out their fan,

To catch the breezy air;

And I must think, do all I can,

That there was pleasure there.

If this belief from heaven be sent,

If such be Nature's holy plan,

Have I not reason to lament

What man has made of man?

Our Jewish Roots: Roadmap To Armageddon Part Seven/Abomination
