For In You I Have Found Refuge

Keep and protect me, O God,

 for in You I have found refuge,

 and in You do I put my trust and hide myself.

I say to the Lord, You are my Lord,

I have no good beside or beyond You.

The Promise
Morgan Weistling

As for the godly, the saints, who are in the land

they are the excellent, the noble, and the glorious,

in whom is all my delight.

Their sorrows shall be multiplied

 who choose another god,

their drink offerings of blood will I not offer

or take their names upon my lips.

The Lord is my chosen

 and assigned portion, my cup;

You hold and maintain my lot.

The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;

yes, I have a good heritage.

I will bless the Lord, Who has given me counsel;

yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.

I have set the Lord continually before me;

because He is at my right hand,

 I shall not be moved.

Therefore my heart is glad

 and my glory, my inner self rejoices;

my body too shall rest

 and confidently dwell in safety.

For You will not abandon me to Sheol,

 the place of the dead,

neither will You suffer Your Holy One

 to see corruption.

You will show me the path of life;

 in Your presence is fullness of joy.

 At Your right hand

 there are pleasures forevermore.

Amir Tsarfati: The Mystery Of The Menorah

"You shall make a lampstand of pure gold.
Of beaten and turned work shall the lampstand
 be made, both its base and its shaft; its cups, its knobs,
and its flowers
shall be of one piece with it."
(Exodus 25:31)

 "God commanded Moses to make a Golden Menorah for the wilderness tabernacle.
Why? What happened to it after the Temple was destroyed? Where is the Menorah today?
Is it important to have it again or was it only a mere shadow of something far greater?
Will we have it in eternity at the New Jerusalem?"

When Came In The Flesh Incarnate

"In the beginning before all time was the Word, Christ,
and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself."
(John 1:1)

Kissing The Face Of God
Morgan Weistling
The Greenwich Workshop

When came in flesh the incarnate Word,

The heedless world slept on,

And only simple shepherds heard

That God had sent His Son.

When comes the Savior at the last,

From east to west shall shine

The awful pomp, and earth aghast

Shall tremble at the sign.

Then shall the pure of heart be blest;

As mild He comes to them,

As when upon the virgin's breast

He lay at Bethlehem.

As mild to meek eyed loved and faith,

Only more strong to save;

Strengthened by having bowed to death,

But having burst the grave.

Lord, who could dare see Thee descend

In state, unless he knew

Thou art the sorrowing sinner's friend,

The gracious and the true?

Dwell in our hearts, O Savior blest;

So shall Thine advent's dawn

'Twixt us and Thee, our bosom guest

Be but the veil withdrawn.

"And at once the veil of the Holy of Holies of the temple
was torn in two from top to bottom; the earth shook
and the rocks were split apart."

Zola Levitt Presents: A Child Is Born

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born
I set you apart and appointed you as a prophet to the nations."
Jeremiah 1:5

In this classic teaching, beloved Hebrew Christian Bible teacher
Zola Levitt (1938-2006) tells how, quite by accident,  he discovered
an amazing series of biblical "coincidences" in which the development
of a child in the womb corresponds with the seven feasts of Israel, times
 of holy convocation, which were given to Moses by God on Mount Sinai.

Happy Thanksgiving Day

"May the glory of the Lord endure forever;
may the Lord rejoice in His works."
(Psalm 104:31)

Upon our fields of corn and grain

Made ripe by earth and wind and rain,

The same sun shines that made them glad

Each little pilgrim lass and lad.

Long, long ago the Pilgrims bent

Their heads to thank the God Who sent

The harvest ripened by the sun

The evening rest when day was done.

And they who bowed their heads above

The feast made fair by work and love

Passed on to us the grace to give

Our thanks to Him Who made us live.

All Of Life's Little Wonders
(2011)

Dear Lord,

This year was rough on us cowboys

With calf prices bein' low.

And the drought, and the snow last winter

Didn't leave a lot to show.

For a lot of really hard workin'

There were times, I confess,

That I lay awake nights and wondered:

Lord, how do I get out of this mess.

But I turned it all over to you, Lord.

Put my trust in your capable hands.

And I thank you that you let us keep on

Makin' a living off of your lands.

I thank you for every morning

when the sun rose over the trees,

and spread light over the meadows,

And thanks for that cool summer breeze

That cooled sweatin' backs in the hay fields.

And thanks for new friends I made,

for the joy of seein' baby calves

curled up, asleep in the shade.

Thanks for these good friends and neighbors

and the love and the help that they give.

And I thank you Lord for these old cows

and the cowboy life they let me live.

And thank you Lord for my family

my little girl and my wife.

And for the chance we have to raise a child

to live the kind of life

That most folks only dream of

spending days outside,

Feedin' checkin' and sortin' and looking

where old cows hide.

So Lord, on Thanksgiving,

as we take a break from our chores,

We thank you for this year's blessings,

and for what you have in store.

Sowing in the morning, sowing seeds of kindness,

Sowing in the noontide and the dewy eve;

Waiting for the harvest, and the time of reaping,

We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.

Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves,

We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves,

Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves,

We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.

Sowing in the sunshine, sowing in the shadows,

Fearing neither clouds nor winter's chilling breeze;

By and by the harvest, and the labor ended,

We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.

Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves,

We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves,

Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves,

We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.

Going forth with weeping, sowing for the Master,

Though the loss sustained our spirit often grieves;

When our weeping's over, He will bid us welcome,

We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.

Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves,

We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves,

Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves,

We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.

We would thank Thee, heav'nly Father,

For the blessings of our past days;

And our heart today o'erflow with gladness,

Unto Thee, we render grateful praise.

Praise Him, ever praise Him,

And His love proclaim;

Glory, praise and honor

Be unto His name.

We would thank Thee for Thy guidance,

Thou hast kept us from day to day;

For our common good, dear Lord, we thank Thee,

Thou will ever be our shield and stay.

Praise Him, ever praise Him,

And His love proclaim;

Glory, praise and honor

Be unto His name.

We would thank Thee, gracious Father,

Life and health we still possess,

Now accept the tribute, Lord, we bring Thee,

We Thy holy name and praises bless.

Be unto His name.

On My Mind: If You Were Born In America You Are Blessed

While food prices have generally increased in my area in recent weeks,
there is no way bureaucratic meddling in consumer affairs is going to stop me
 from enjoying the celebration of Thanksgiving with my family and friends!

Hosting a traditional dinner where all the invited guests obligingly
"bring the trimmings" is one way of cutting the cost of the holiday meal.

Dr. Benjamin Solomon Carson Sr.
 17th Secretary for US Housing and Urban Development
 under President Donald Trump

I recently had the distinct pleasure of listening to former US Secretary for
Housing and Urban Development Dr. Ben Carson, who was the guest speaker
at the 25th anniversary fund-raiser for Choices of the Heart, a pro-life ministry
 here in southern New Jersey.  In addition to being a world renown neurosurgeon,
this soft spoken man is a self-professed politically incorrect, unapologetic
Christian, who told his listening audience that night that he and his wife,
 Candy have lived in many different nations over the years.

He then added, "If you were born in America, you are blessed."
And he is right.

Dr. Carson also spoke about the immigration nightmare plaguing our southern border.
"If America is such a bad country as we are being told every day by the news media,
then why are caravans of desperate people fighting to get in here?" he asked.

Again, this wonderful gentleman was right on the money!

Our nation definitely has its problems.  The America of my childhood is gone now.
 And while I do not know if this nation will ever return to "business as usual"
 in the aftermath of the liberty-crushing, Covid-19 restrictions and mandates,
 I think we will always have political corruption, as well as racial
 strife and social unrest plaguing our land as long as prideful,
 self-centered, and greedy human beings refuse to change their ways.

Nevertheless, every morning when I open my eyes to face another day,
I thank God that I can put my hope and confidence in His Word
 for guidance and comfort in these uncertain times we are living in
 today.  And that I am waking up in the United States of America.

Thanksgiving Moon

"For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature
and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity have been

that have been made, His handiworks. So men are without excuse,
without defense or justification."
(Romans 1:20)

The leaves have taken scarlet hues.

The wind goes dancing on gold shoes.

All day the sheaves are piling high,

The yellow wheat yields to the scythe.

In arbors purple grapes hang down.

The barrels are packed to go to town.

Then high above this golden scene

There moves in sight the autumn queen!

Majestic, huge and not too soon

Sails forth the new Thanksgiving moon.

Round as a pumpkin! And so should she be,

Her color an eye-filling vision to see!

Mellow and leisurely, regal in pace,

A hint of a twinkle about her broad face.

And also a hint of vagabondage

Becoming a sovereign who rules at this stage.

With earth so abundant and fruitful below,

A queen up above could scarcely but know.

And grand as she is, majestic her pace,

There's a touch of the pumpkin about her round face.

The garden glows with orange and rose,

And dressed in brown the hedge fence goes.

The apple turns a bright red cheek,

And of her beauty all men speak!

Field and wood and garden riot

In colors where there once was quiet.

Then high above this golden scene

There moves in view the autumn queen.

To the season's loudest, gayest tune

Sails forth the new Thanksgiving moon.

Longest Lunar Eclipse Tonight

NASA reports that a "nearly total" lunar eclipse is expected
overnight Thursday, November 18th into Friday, November 19th.

According to Space.com tonight's lunar eclipse will be the longest
in centuries as it will last 3 hours, 28 minutes, and 23 seconds!

Only a small sliver of the moon will be visible during the eclipse
and the moon will appear to be a reddish brown color as it slips
 into the shadow of the earth.

Hope the skies are clear where you're at for this spectacular celestial event!

Redeemed, and with the price of blood,

Which Thou hast shed for me,

I stand, a monument of grace,

A witness, Lord, for Thee.

Redeemed, and made by simple faith

An heir of Heaven above!

Oh, love surpassing human thought!

Oh, vast, unmeasured love!

Redeemed, no longer dead in sin

But raised by pow'r divine,

My tongue, rejoicing, cries aloud,

All glory, Lord, be Thine.

Redeemed, my heart is filled with praise,

My soul true comfort knows,

And daily feels the calm of peace

That like a river flows.

Redeemed, I'll tell it o'er and o'er;

Redeemed my song shall be,

My watchword through the vale of death,

My passport home to Thee.

Sunrise Over Jerusalem Israel

Give thanks to God most high,

The universal Lord;

The sovereign King of kings;

And be His grace adored.

His power and grace

Are still the same;

And let His name

Have endless praise.

How mighty is His hand!

What wonders hath He done!

He formed the earth and seas,

And spread the heav'ns alone.

They mercy, Lord,

Shall still endure;

And ever sure

Abides Thy Word.

His wisdom framed the sun

To crown the day with light;

The moon and twinkling stars

To cheer the darksome night.

His power and grace

Are still the same;

And let His name

Have endless praise.

He smote the first-born sons,

The flower of Egypt, dead;

And thence His chosen tribes

With joy and glory led.

Thy mercy, Lord,

Shall still endure;

And ever sure

Abides Thy Word.

His power and lifted rod

Cleft the Red Sea in two;

And for His people made

A wondrous passage through.

His power and grace

Are still the same;

And let His name

Have endless praise.

But cruel Pharaoh there,

With all his host, He drowned;

And brought His Israel safe

Through a long desert ground.

Thy mercy, Lord

Shall still endure;

And ever sure

Abides Thy Word.

The kings of Canaan fell

Beneath His dreadful hand;

While His own servants took

Possession of their land.

His power and grace

Are still the same;

And let His name

Have endless praise.

He saw the nations lie

All perishing in sin,

And pitied the sad state

The ruined world was in.

Thy mercy, Lord,

Shall still endure,

And ever sure

Abides Thy Word.

He sent His only Son

To save us from our woe

From Satan, sin, and death,

And every hurtful foe.

His power and grace

Are still the same;

And let His name

Have endless praise.

Give thanks aloud to God,

The God the heavenly king;

And let the spacious earth

His works and glories sing.

Thy mercy, Lord,

Shall still endure;

And ever sure

Abides Thy Word.

Motivational Monday: Guard Your Heart

"There is one area of your personality that is more important than any
other and that is your heart.  The state of your heart will determine the
course of your life.  You are advised and admonished by God to guard your
heart more than all else. It is the most important thing that's committed to
your keeping, the condition of your own heart."
-Derek Prince

I remember many years ago in a country in East Africa, when I was
serving as a principal at a college for training teachers, on the wall on the
dormitory of my students one of them had written the Scripture up in her
own particular language.  And I read it in that language and translated it
literally, and it stayed with me ever since. It says, "Guard your heart
with all your strength, for all the things there are in life come out of it."

Everything in your life ultimately proceeds out of your heart. The
condition of your heart is going to determine the condition of your life.
Guard it will all your strength.  Don't let any evil in; don't make room
for unbelief, for bitterness, for fear, for anxiety, because if there are bitter
things in your heart, then there will be bitterness in your life.

But if your heart is pure and clean, if your heart is filled with faith
and love and with truth and with righteousness, then the course
 of your life will be a course of success.

So, remember that.  Guard your heart with all your strength
 for all the things there are in life come out of it."
