clouds of glory, and all the holy angels that come with Him; we shall
"see Jesus" and hear His own voice and that will fill our eyes

Does this seem a terrible verse? do you wonder why it should be one of 
the "little pillows," and wish the book had given you a different one to go 
to sleep upon to-night? Look at it again: "He cometh!" Who? Jesus Himself,  
 the "same Jesus" who said, "Come unto Me." 

You thought it would be so nice to come, if you could only see Him.
But you will see Him, for He is coming.

Think of seeing Him come, so beautiful, so glorious, so "altogether lovely";
Him, the very same dear, kind Saviour, who loves the little children, who
loves you and has called you! Seeing His very face; the very brow that was
crowned with thorns, the very eyes that looked on Peter, the very lips that
said such wonderful and gracious things!

No longer thinking about Him, and trying to believe on Him and praying
to Him, and wishing for Him, but really seeing Him!

Is this terrible? Does it not rather seem something to look forward to very much?

Only one thing would make it terrible, and that is, if you will not come to Him now,
and will not let Him wash away your sins in His precious blood. Then it would indeed 
 be terrible, for He would never any more say to you, "Come!" but only "Depart!"

But you want Him to wash you clean, do you not? and you did try to come to Him?
And you believe He means what He says, and really died to save you? 
Then, oh, shall you not be glad to see Him? 

What if now the cry were heard, "Jesus is coming!"

Your heart would beat quick, but I think it would be with gladness, not terror.
Jesus is coming! Would you not go forth to meet Him?  Jesus is coming!
Could anything be happier news? 

I think we shall not think much about the sound of the trumpet, and the

"see Jesus" and hear His own voice and that will fill our eyes

 From Season 16 of The Wonderful World Of Disney, a teenaged boy,
Chris Long ( Ronny Howard) recovering from his father's tragic death 
 and resentful towards his new stepfather's authority in his life, befriends
 a stray German Shepherd that has been wounded by a pair of coyotes.

Chris is glad after his stepfather, Cal Fitch (Earl Holliman) agrees to allow
 him to nurse the dog back to health. The dog, whom is now called, " Smoke"
gradually recovers, and becomes a trusted friend and companion
 to Chris and his little sister Susie ( Pamelyn Ferdin).

Having Smoke brings some happiness back into Chris' life, until his
 stepfather suggests to him that they try to find the dog's real owner. 

This engaging family drama also stars Jacqueline Scott as Chris'
mother Fran Fitch, Shug Fisher as Leroy, Andy Devine as Mr. Stone,

Flashback Friday: When Will I See You Again

 

 

 

  Released in September 1974, "When Will I See You Again" sung by the lovely American
 soul trio Sheila Ferguson, Fayette Pickney, and Valerie Holiday, better known as
The Three Degrees, was one of the most successful recordings of the 
Philadelphia Sound era of the late 1960's and early 1970's.

Written by the premier songwriting and production duo Kenny Gamble
and Leon Huff, the first station in America to play this song on the air
was none other than Philly's own Famous 56 Boss Radio WFIL-AM.

This song, however, had been initially released in Great Britain in June, 1974,
 where it spent two weeks at the top of the UK Singles Chart.

  "When Will I See You Again" became a favorite of Prince (now King) Charles III, who 
 later invited The Three Degrees to perform the song at his 30th birthday party in 1978.

Upon release across the pond in America, this sensational hit record, which has since
  become an international Karaoke favorite, reached Number #4 on the R & B Chart, 
Number #2 on the Pop Singles Chart, and the coveted Number #1 spot on the
Adult Contemporary Chart in the autumn of 1974.

 In 2017, "When Will I See You Again" was at Number #67 
on Billboard's list of the 100 Greatest Girl Group(Songs) Of All Time.

Thursday's Thoughts: Ignorance Or Ignominy...A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words

 A confirmed and virulent hater of President Donald Trump, N.C. Democratic
 candidate Shelly Headen once wrote on Facebook: "I think our only hope is an
 attack on U.S. soil...preferably  Alabama, Louisiana, where stupid people live."   
Meanwhile, on X she wrote: "Ready for the MAGAs to die off."

 "A picture is worth a thousand words." Never was this old adage more true
 than when I saw the photograph of a smiling Shelly Headen taken before the 
ovens used to burn the bodies of Jewish and other prisoners being 
 held at Dachau concentration camp in Germany during WWII. 

 This casual image of a candidate running for public office is far more
 disturbing to me than any of her hateful and ignorant posts, which are 
merely a reflection of the dark and disturbing times we are living in today.

According to her profile on Ballotpedia, Headen believes every child in North Carolina
 should have the right to a high quality education. But, what about the children in
Alabama and Louisiana, where she claims, "stupid people live" and who she 
thinks should die in an attack on U.S. soil? 

 Terrorist bombs and bullets do not discriminate when it comes to murdering innocent
 people-including children. Neither, might I add, did the Nazis in charge of concentration
 camps like Dachau. The caption on her post above reminds me of the recent videos
 uploaded to social media showing women throwing baby dolls into dishwashers
 and dryers and laughing about it.

Although the Guilford County Democratic Party and the North Carolina House
Democratic Caucus have since withdrawn their support for Headen,
 the damage has already been done.

Furthermore, if she thinks President Trump is the most disgusting man to
 walk the face of the earth and is on par with the likes of Adolf Hitler, that
is her prerogative as an American citizen with the right to freedom of
speech and expression.

  My only suggestion is that next time she should look in the mirror first.

 From Season 9 of Walt Disney's Anthology program (Wonderful World of Color) first
 aired on network television in 1963, comes the intriguing, "The Horse With The Flying Tail"  
the story of a beautiful Palomino horse, Injun Joe, and his rise from humble origins to 
become a first class jumper called Nautical, who won the U.S. Equestrian team
 the gold medal at the the 1959 Pan American Games.

  Released as a companion feature with the Disney adventure movie, 
"Swiss Family Robinson" in 1960, and with the animated story of
"One Hundred And One Dalmations" (1961)  this film won an Oscar
 for Best Documentary at the 33rd Academy Awards in 1961.
