The brilliant Full Harvest Moon reached peak illumination at 12:49 P.M. EST
on this last Saturday in the month of September, a day marked by overcast
skies along with heavy winds and rain for much of the upper Mid-Atlantic
region due to the presence of a Nor'easter off the East Coast this weekend.
The storm is expected to stall out near northern New Jersey and Long Island,
New York bringing with it major coastal flooding, high damaging winds,
beach erosion and power outages.
Unfortunately, the moon being full again tonight will only increase the size of
the waves and ocean tides, making the flooding even worse in some areas.
According to the latest update from FOX Weather, the Jersey shore remains
under a High Wind Warning and Coastal Flood Alert tonight. In my neck of
the woods we remain under a Wind Advisory until noon tomorrow.
