Friday Night Bible Study: Day Four Of Creation

"And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day."
Genesis 1:19

Starry Night in the Negev Desert

This week Bible teacher Zola Levitt and Professor Gerald Schroeder
discuss the cooling of the earth and how the atmosphere changed
from translucent to transparent bringing visibility to the heavens.
The sun and the moon and the stars could now be seen from earth.

 The Hebrew words for evening and morning, (order and chaos)
 reveal the progression of God's creation, and thus
 disprove the modern theory of random evolution.

On My Mind: There Is Nothing New Under The Sun

"The thing that has been-it is what will be again,
and that which has been done is that which will be done again;
and there is nothing new under the sun."
Ecclesiastes 1:9

Coronavirus

I decided to write this post tonight after reading comments and hearing
 a lot of negative reaction to President Trump's news conference yesterday
from those attempting to politicize the Coronavirus epidemic.

 First of all,  Donald Trump is not perfect. Who is?
He is also not a disease pathologist with the CDC or a miracle worker.
He is the President of the United States of America and at yesterday's
news conference he reiterated more than once that his greatest concern
was protecting the American people and keeping everyone safe
during this latest worldwide crisis.  Regardless of what
the news media or Nancy Pelosi has to say, I believe our president.

 I ask that everyone reading this post to not only realize the enormous
weight of responsibility this man carries daily on his shoulders, but to
 please pray for President Trump to receive the wisdom and guidance
 of the Holy Spirit in making important decisions for our nation.

I pray that the Lord will surround our president and his family and
 members of his administration with a legion of his mightiest warrior
angels to protect and guard them from all the lies and schemes of the
enemy and his minions, both human and spiritual. Amen.

President Trump at yesterday's news conference

The passage from the Book of Ecclesiastes above, "and there is
nothing new under the sun" should be a reality check for believers
in understanding the ongoing situation regarding the Coronavirus.
  Pandemics have occurred throughout the course of human history.
 In addition to the horrible Black Death which swept across Europe
 and Asia in the mid-1300's, one of the most devastating plagues
of the last century was the dreaded Spanish Influenza of 1918-19.

Some important things to remember:

Be Prepared.

Stay Alert, Not Anxious

More importantly and above everything else, take all
your concerns and needs to the Lord in prayer.

"God is our Refuge and Strength, mighty and
a very present and well-proved help in trouble."
Psalm 46:1

Our Jewish Roots Joshua: At The End

"Israel served the Lord all the days of Joshua
and of the elders who outlived Joshua and had known
all the works the Lord had done for Israel."
Joshua 24:31

In this final episode filmed on location in Israel,
Dr. Jeffrey Seif teaches of the legacy of Joshua, the
 valiant warrior and leader of the nation of Israel,
an ordinary man with an extraordinary faith,
 in the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob.

A Prayer For Ash Wednesday

" Create in me a clean heart, O God,

and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast

spirit within me.

Outpouring from Heaven
Todd L. Thomas

Cast me not away from Your presence

 and take not Your Holy Spirit from me.

Restore to me the joy of Your salvation

and uphold me with a willing spirit.

Then will I teach transgressors Your ways,

and sinners shall be converted and return to You.

Deliver me from the bloodguiltiness and death, O God,

the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing

 aloud of Your righteousness and Your justice.

O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall

show forth Your praise.

For You delight not in sacrifice or else I would give it;

You find no pleasure in burnt offering.

My sacrifice, the sacrifice acceptable to God,

is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart,

broken down with sorrow for sin and humbly and

 thoroughly penitent; such, O God, You will not despise."

Possession Of The Priceless Privilege

possession of the priceless privilege of knowing

Jesus Christ my Lord

more fully and clearly.

For His sake, I have lost everything

In These Things I Delight

The Holy Spirit
 Danny Hahlbohm
(2014)

Thus says the Lord:

Let not the wise and skillful person glory

and boast in wisdom and skill;

let not the mighty and powerful person glory

and boast in his strength and power;

let not the person who is rich glory

and boast in his earthly riches;

But let him who glories glory in this:

that he understands and knows Me,

that I am the Lord, Who practices loving-kindness,

judgment, and righteousness in the earth,

for in these things, I delight, says the Lord.

Jeremiah 9:23-24

Through the Bible With Les Feldick: Water and Blood

"This is He Who came by with water and blood
His baptism and His death, Jesus Christ the Messiah,
not by the water only, but by the water and the blood.
And it is the Holy Spirit Who bears witness, because
the Holy Spirit is the Truth."

and these three agree- are in unison-
their testimony coincides."

Fourth Sunday Meditation: On The Wings Of The Morning

"If I take the wings of the morning or dwell in the
 uttermost parts of the sea, Even there shall Your hand
lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me."
Psalm 139:9-10

Father, Son, And Holy Spirit
Jill Everson
(2011)

Take the wings of the morning;

Speed quickly thy flight

To Jesus thy Savior,

Thy hope and thy light;

The fount of His mercy

Is open for thee,

Go wash and be cleaned

In its waters so free.

Take the wings of the morning and fly,

Ere the darkness shall cover the sky;

Fly away from the shadows

That over thee roll,

And find in thy Savior

The home of thy soul.

Fly away to thy Savior,

He waits to forgive;

One look of His love,

And thy spirit shall live;

Thy faith will secure thee

His blessing divine;

Go plead thou His merits,

And peace will be thine.

Take the wings of the morning and fly,

Ere the darkness shall cover the sky;

Fly away from the shadows

That over thee roll,

And find in thy Savior

The home of thy soul.

On the wings of the morning

Fly home to His breast-

There only thy refuge,

There only thy rest;

The moments are precious,

The noontide is near:

Fly home to the Savior,

Oh, linger not here.

Take the wings of the morning and fly,

Ere the darkness shall cover the sky;

Fly away from the shadows

That over thee roll,

And find in thy Savior

The home of thy soul.

The Cowboy and The Cross

I was once an old cowboy ridin' down the wrong trails

when I gazed upon a wooden cross with a crown of thorns and nails.

I asked an old cowpoke who was kneeling down to pray,

"Why are you kneeling by this old dead tree on such a pretty day?"

He looked up at me and grinned with the biggest smile on his face.

He said, "My friend, this cross is to remind all Cowboys of

 God's Amazing Grace."

The old cowpoke then took my hand and said,

"I too was once like you.

I've been down those lonely dusty trails and

done what real bad Cowboys do.

Why, I've cussed and fussed and I've even drawn my gun a time or two.

Then one day I met a preacher man who looked

me straight in the eyes and he said,

"Cowboy, Jesus loves you."

Hangin' there from his saddle was an old wooden cross

 and that's where I knelt down to pray.

Jesus forgave me all my wrongs, cleaned me up, and gave

this cowboy a brand new start that day.

So, you see my friend this cross ain't just part of an old tree.

It represents eternal life from a loving God

Who gave His life for cowboys like you and me.
