On My Mind: Thoughts On The State Of The Union Address

"America's enemies are on the run, America's fortunes are on
the rise, and America's future is blazing bright."
-President Donald Trump

Last night, while President Trump gave his third State of the Union
Address to the nation, an obviously disturbed Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi
kept mumbling into the air as she she sat there behind him.  I do not know
whether she was actually sitting there mocking his words...or was she
speaking to an imaginary friend?

I suppose it is even possible that she was wearing a microphone hidden
on her person and covertly directing the actions of the Democrat "women in white"
sitting in the audience.  And what's up with that virginal color choice anyway?
There is definitely nothing pure or wholesome about the behavior of
some of the women in the Democratic Party these days!

Furthermore, Nancy Pelosi ripping up the President's speech in full
view of the cameras last night is the proverbial proof in the pudding that
she and her like-minded colleagues will remain obstinate to working with
him and the Republicans in the best interests of the American people.

Despite the rude interruptions of the "women in white" the deadpan
warrior Trump continued, unmoved by their occasional catcalls, and gave
a wonderful and edifying speech to the nation, with myself and millions
of other Americans serving as eye witnesses to the unmitigated
hatred and insolence of the Democrats.

I am glad that President Trump honored Rush Limbaugh last night.
It was clear to see how the ravishes of cancer have depleted the once
hearty joviality of America's best known conservative commentator.
My heart and prayers are with him and his family.

Despite his many critics and detractors both within the government and
the news media, I believe President Trump is really trying to be everyone's
president and I was most impressed by the presence of one of the last of
the Tuskegee airmen, 100 year old Charles McGee, being honored for his
service last night, as well as the acknowledgement of his great-grandson
who wants to be an astronaut in the new Space Program.

President Trump paying the nation's respects to the parents of the young
woman kidnapped and murdered by ISIS terror master al-Baghdadi, and homage
to the memory of a soldier who lost his life in Iraq because of Soleimani, and to the
man whose brother was murdered by an illegal alien criminal were very moving,
as was the surprise homecoming of a soldier to his wife and children, and the
look of happiness on the face of a young girl from Philadelphia who will now be
able to go to the school of her choice thanks to the efforts of President Trump in
reforming the corrupt, government-run public education system in America.

And least I forget, President Trump also honored the presence of a
surprise guest in the audience last night, Venezuelan opposition leader,
Juan Guaido, whom our president called, "the true and legitimate"
president of that embattled South American nation.
Mr. Trump further added: "Please take this message back that
all Americans are united with the Venezuelan people in their
righteous struggle for freedom."

While the Republican side of the room in the House chamber often
rose to their feet with thunderous and appreciative applause during the
President's speech, many on the Democrat side sat there either
ignoring him and/or giving a basically lukewarm response.
Many were seen looking bored, or down at their cell phones, with some
occasionally gawking at the president with an air of bemused condescension.

President Trump talked about America's enemies being on the run.
While I know he was referring to foreign terrorists like Islamic extremists
and illegal alien criminals, as we clearly saw last night, with the
contemptuous attitudes shown by many members of the Democratic
Party, some of the greatest enemies of the American people
look very familiar and are a lot closer to home.
