Remembering Kirk Douglas

"To the world he was a legend, an actor from the golden age of movies who
lived well into his golden years, a humanitarian whose commitment to justice
and the causes he believed in set a standard for all of us to aspire to.
But to me and my brothers Joel and Peter he was simply Dad,
to Catherine, a wonderful father-in-law, to his grandchildren and
great grandchild their loving grandfather, and to his wife,
Anne, a wonderful husband."
-Michael Douglas

Born Issur Danielovitch Demsky
(December 9, 1916-February 5, 2020)
May he rest in peace.

One of my favorite adventure movies features Kirk as
a scrappy master harpoonist named Ned Land, who joins an
expedition to track down a menacing sea monster- only to
run afoul of the nefarious Captain Nemo in Walt Disney's
adaptation of the classic Jules Verne novel,
"20,000 Leagues Under The Sea".
