To Whom Then Will You Liken Me?

"Lift up your eyes on high and see!
Who created these?
He Who brings out their host
by number and calls
them all by name;
through the greatness of His might
and because He is strong in power,
not one is missing or lacks anything."
Isaiah 40:26

No coward soul is mine,
No trembler in the world's
storm-troubled sphere:
I see Heaven's glories shine,
And faith shines equal,
arming me from fear.

O God, within my breast,
Almighty, ever-present Deity!
Life-that in me has rest,
As I-undying Life-have power in Thee!

Vain are the thousand creeds
That move men's hearts: unutterably vain;
Worthless as withered weeds,
Or idlest froth amid the boundless main,

To waken doubt in one
Holding so fast by thine infinity;
So surely anchored on
The steadfast rock of immortality.

With wide-embracing love,
Thy Spirit animates eternal years,
Pervades and broods above,
Changes, sustains, dissolves, creates, and rears.

Though earth and man were gone,
And suns and universes ceased to be,
And Thou were left alone,
Every existence would exist in Thee.

There is not room for Death,
Nor atom that his might could render void:
Thou-Thou art Being and Breath,
And what Thou art may never be destroyed."

"Then the Lord God
formed man from the dust
of the ground and
breathed into his nostrils
the breath, or spirit of life,
and man became a
living being."
Genesis 2:7

"By the word of the Lord
were the heavens made,
and all their hosts
by the breath of His mouth."
Psalm 33:6

"Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God,
the Lord, the Creator
of the ends of the earth

"All things were made and came into
existence through Him;
and without Him was not
even one thing made
that has come into being."
John 1:3

"Thus it is written,
The first man Adam
became a living being,
the last Adam, Christ,
became a life-giving Spirit,
restoring the dead to life.

But it was not the
spiritual life
which came first,
but the physical,
than the spiritual.

The first man was
from out of the earth,
made of dust,
the second Man
is the Lord from
out of heaven.

Now those who are made
of the dust are like him
who was first made of the dust;
and as is the Man from heaven,
so also are those who
are of heaven.

And just as we have borne
the image of the man of dust,
so shall we also bear
the image of the Man
of heaven."
1 Corinthians 45-49

"For the Word that God speaks
is alive and full of power
making it active,
operative, energizing,
and effective;
it is sharper than any
two-edged sword,
penetrating to the dividing line
of the breath of life (soul)
and the (immortal) spirit,
and of joints and marrow,
(of the deepest parts of our nature)
exposing and sifting
and analyzing and judging
the very thoughts and
purposes of the heart."
Hebrews 4:12

"By faith we understand
that the worlds during
the successive ages
were framed and equipped
for their intended purpose
by the word of God,
so that what we see
was not made out of things
which are visible."
Hebrews 11:3

"I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the Beginning and the End,
says the Lord God,
He Who is and Who was
and Who is to come,
the Almighty,
the Ruler of all!"
Revelation 1:8
