Keep in mind that this ongoing political witch hunt against
President Donald Trump is based on unsubstantiated news

the media's and the Democrat-Communists unmitigated,

A Spirit Of Sadness Over It All

We all, at times, have had a longing that Robert Burns so well
expressed when he said, "Oh, wad some power the giftie gie us,
to see oursel's as ithers see us."

And lately I have had a glimpse of how we, as a class, appear
to strangers, not merely strangers so far as acquaintance goes,
but strangers  to our life and customs.

"Little House" author
Laura Ingalls Wilder
(1867-1957)

Friends from Switzerland, motoring through from San Francisco to
New York, broke the journey by a visit to Rocky Ridge Farm.
Their account of the trip was interesting, but part of it has given
me a picture of farm folks which is not at all pleasant to look upon.

"So many farm people from adjoining states were camping at
Colorado Springs," said Mme. Marquis. "And they brought so much of
their work with them that I do not see how the vacation could do them
any good. They brought such quantities of luggage, everything from
their washboards and tubs to their talking machines. The women did
the washing on those glorious mornings, rubbing away on the
wrinkle-boards, and they spent the most of the time  left sitting
around in camp talking to one another.

I heard one woman say, "No, I haven't been up on Pike's peak. It
costs $2 to go up, and that's too much money. And so, having come all the
way to the foot of the Peak, they missed the whole climax of the trip,
because it would cost a couple of dollars more.

It seemed to me that they worked hard all their lives, and at last they
had reached the point where they were able to leave all their cares
behind them, to get their own motor cars and take a trip for
pleasure and adventure. And then, at the last moment, they let
their lifelong habits of pinching the pennies to spoil it all.
And, oh! Those farm women looked so warn and tired."

The Man of the Place and I once went on a picnic fishing trip
with a family who were friends of ours. After listening to
Mme. Marquis tell of these women on their camping trip to
Colorado Springs, it brought back to me the feeling of
disillusion and utter weariness I experienced then.

I had expected relaxation and rest; but instead there was the
cooking, the care of the children, the washing of many dishes and the
making of beds, all to be done in the most difficult manner possible.
If we had stayed long enough so that I had been obliged to do a
washing I believe I would have wished to feed myself to the fishes.
Once was enough. It was never again for me.

M. and Mme. Marquis were making the journey across the United States
in a car for the sake of becoming acquainted with the people at home, and
we took them with us to camp-meeting and to an all-day singing, to picnics,
and on short trips here and there.

"What do you think of us?" I asked M. Marquis. How do we impress you?"

"Well, if I can explain," he answered with his delightful accent. You are
very nice people. I have studied the faces in the crowd, and they are good
faces, fine and beautiful, some of them. But you all seem to take your
pleasures so sadly. You appear to be quite happy and contented, but very sad.
There seems to be a spirit of sadness over it all. Do you not feel it?"

I was obliged to admit that I did, even within myself, Do we always
carry our work and our sorrows with us, as we did on the fishing party,
and as the tired farm women did at Colorado Springs?

Is it a constant, unrelieved carrying-about-our-burdens that has caused
our lives to be permeated with sadness so that it is felt by a sensitive
person seeing us for the first time?

Another thing was revealed to us about ourselves during the visit
of these strangers. That is that we have grown careless in our manners.
They had time always for an exquisite courtesy, being never too tired
or hurried to show their appreciation of a favor or to do a kindness
when the chance came. Their courtesy never failed, even when the
machine broke down on rough roads, or in the rush of farm work
in which they eagerly took a part.

"We are all so careless about those things," said the Man of the Place
to me.  I think we ought to try and do better.""Yes," I replied.
Let's take the time to be at least as nice as we know to be.
And after this, when I go on vacation,
I am going to leave my 'wrinkle-board' behind.

After all, vacation is not a matter of place or time. We can take a
wonderful vacation in spirit, even though we are obliged to stay at home,
if we will only drop our burdens from our minds for a while.
But no amount of travel will give us rest and recreation if
we carry our work and worries with us.

Israel's Amazing Role In Biblical Prophecy

"The HAND of the Lord was upon me, and He brought me
out in the SPIRIT of the LORD and set me down in the midst
of the valley; and it was full of bones.

The Vision of the Valley of the Dry Bones
(1866)
 Paul Gustave Dore
(1832-1883)
French artist

And He caused me to pass round among them, and behold,
there were very many human bones in the open valley or plain,
and behold, they were very dry.

And He said to me, "Son of man, can these bones live?"
And I answered, "O Lord God, You know!"

Again He said to me, "Prophesy to these bones and say
to them, O you dry bones, hear the word of the Lord."
Thus says the Lord God to these bones: "Behold, I will
cause breath and spirit to enter you, and you shall live.

And I will lay sinews upon you and bring up flesh
upon you and cover you with skin, and I will put
breath and spirit in you, and you dry bones shall live
and you shall know, understand, and realize that I am
the Lord, the Sovereign Ruler, Who calls forth
loyalty and obedient service."

So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied,
there was a thundering noise and behold, a shaking and trembling
and rattling and the bones came together, bone to its bone.
And I looked and behold there were sinews upon the bones
and flesh came upon them and skin covered them over,
but there was no breath or spirit in them.

Then said He to me, "Prophesy to the breath and spirit,
son of man, and say to the breath and spirit, Thus says
the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath and
spirit, and breathe upon these slain that they may live."

So I prophesied as He commanded to me and the breath
and spirit came into the bones and they lived and stood up
upon their feet, an exceedingly great host.

Then He said to me, "Son of man, these bones are the
whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, Our bones are
dried up and our hope is lost; we are completely cut off.
Therefore prophesy and say to them, Thus says the Lord God:
Behold, I will open your graves and cause you to come up
out of your graves, O My people; and I will bring you
back home to the land of Israel."
Ezekiel 37:1-12*

Just in time for Rosh Hashanah, which begins tonight
at sundown, a fascinating account of Israel's restoration
and her fascinating role in biblical prophecy...

In his book, "Israel Rising" author Doug Hershey documents the fulfillment
of this vision, from the hills of Shiloh where shepherds once roamed,
to the booming city of Tel Aviv, founded on sand dunes, to the stellar
beaches of Caesarea, transformed from a small village into one
of Israel's most stunning coastal cities and finally Jerusalem, the
Eternal City of Peace, where in ancient times, the power of
worship resounded from the Temple.

In rarely seen photographs taken between the 1880's and the 1940's
juxtaposed with contemporary images of the same locations illustrate
the region's biblical history as a place of monumental battle,
celebration, worship, and awesome resilience."-SkyWatch TV

Laid Out By Doug Hershey!

*No person needs to be reminded of the startling way in which this
(Ezekiel's) prophecy has been in the process of fulfillment since World War II.
The Jews have for centuries been dispersed among all the nations with only
a few left in the homeland which lay waste and desolate. It was said that
travelers in Palestine (like author Mark Twain's account in his book,
"Innocents Abroad") had no difficulty in recognizing the appropriateness
of Ezekiel's label for the country: "a valley...full of bones." (Ezek.37:1)
But by A.D. 1960 one-sixth of the Jewish population of the world
was in (the region) of Palestine. Already they had been made
"one nation" (Ezek.37:22)-between sunrise one day and sunset of
the next-"a nation was born in a day"! (Isaiah 66:8)
But the greatest event of all is yet to come. (Ezek. 37:22-25)
This prophecy will be fulfilled in its entirety.

Michaelmas: Feast Of The Angels

"Do not forget or neglect or refuse to extend
hospitality to strangers in the brotherhood-being friendly,
cordial, and gracious, sharing the comforts of your home
and doing your part generously, for through it some
have entertained angels without knowing it."
Hebrews 13:2

The Angel Who Stands Before The Throne
Howard David Johnson

Around the throne of God a band

Of bright and glorious angels stand;

Sweet harps within their hands they hold,

And on their heads are crowns of gold.

Some wait around Him ready still

To sing His praise and do His will,

And some, when He commands them, go

To guard His servants here below.

Lord, give Thine angels every day

Command to guard us on our way,

And bid them every evening keep

Their watch around us while we sleep.

So shall no wicked thing draw near

To do us harm or cause us fear;

And we shall dwell, when life is past,

With angels round Thy throne at last.

Fifth Sunday Meditation: Rearview Mirror Reflections

"So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently
and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized
with alarm, I will not fear or dread or be terrified!
What can man do to me?"
Hebrews 13:6

I've always thought that you can see the hand of God best
in the rearview mirror. Looking back, it's easier to understand
why He placed us in the home that He did; why He brought
certain people and circumstances into and out of our lives;
why He permitted difficulties and pain; why He took us
to different places and put us in various jobs and careers.

In my own life, I get a lot of clarity, (though not perfect clarity-
that's heaven's joy!) about the wise and loving ways of God as
I reflect on the ways He has managed my journey by the
"works of His hands". (Psalm 92:4)

With the psalmist, it makes me glad and strikes a note of joy
in my heart to see how often God has assisted, directed, and managed
the outcomes so faithfully.  Looking ahead, though is not always so clear.

Have you ever had that lost feeling when the road ahead seems
twisted, foggy, and scary? Before you move into next year, stop and
look in the rearview mirror of the year gone by, and joyfully realize
that God meant it when He said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
So, we may boldly say, "The Lord is my Helper; I will not fear."

With the promise of God's presence and help in mind, you can
move ahead...with utmost confidence.

Dread not the things that are ahead,
the burdens great, the sinking sands,
The thorns that o'er the path are spread,
God holds the future in His hands.

(Refrain)

God holds the future in His hands
And every heart He understands.
On Him depend, He is your friend,
He holds the future in His hands.

We know not what tomorrow hides,
Of sun or storm or good or ill;
We only know His dear hand guides,
And He will be our father still.

(Refrain)

God holds the future in His hands
And every heart He understands.
On Him depend, He is your friend,
He holds the future in His hands.

His hand created earth and sky,
The zephyrs and the storms that rage,
And years to come and years gone by
To Him are but an open page.

(Refrain)

God holds the future in His hands
And every heart He understands.
On Him depend, He is your friend,
He holds the future in His hands.

Live close to Him and trust His love,
Assured that while on earth we roam,
Whate'er may come, He bends above
To guide His children safely home.

(Refrain)

God holds the future in His hands
And every heart He understands.
On Him depend, He is your friend,
He holds the future in His hands.

On My Mind: Killing Babies To Save The Planet?

Two Democrat presidential hopefuls recently stated that
they believe abortion is the solution to the world's
"over population" problem.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders said that abortion implemented
in the "poor countries" of the world was the solution to their over crowded
conditions.  Meanwhile, the so-called, "moderate" Democrat contender,
Rep. Tim Ryan of Ohio, believes that government should play an active role
in ensuring fewer children are born in order to "protect the planet".

Bernie Sanders wants to fight "climate change"
by providing more abortions!
CBN News
September 5, 2019

This past week the pro-abortion group, NARAL,
(National Abortion Rights Action League)
celebrated it's 50th anniversary by awarding to former
presidential candidate Senator Hillary Clinton, (D-NY)
it's Lifetime Achievement Award  for her staunch pro-abortion record.

"Women's rights are human rights, and for 50 years NARAL has taken on
the toughest fights to protect our most fundamental freedoms. Happy Anniversary.
Let's keep going," Clinton tweeted after winning the award.

Speaker of the House Senator Nancy Pelosi, (D-CA) also took time out
from her relentless crusade of persecution and schemes to impeach President
Trump to speak at the NARAL conference.  According to the Huffington Post,
Pelosi lamented that the current political climate is "a very
sad time for our country".  She criticized Donald Trump, who,
since being elected to the White House,  has taken strong and
effective measures-like defunding Planned Parenthood- in order
to significantly reduce the number of abortions in America.

Both Clinton and Pelosi  claim that they defend "women's rights".
If this is true,  then why do they not consider the rights of
unborn females in the womb as equally important to protect
as the rights of females outside the womb?  How can these two
hypocrites say that they believe in protecting "women's rights"
when through their fanatical support of the abortion lobby
they are denying to future female citizens of America
the most crucial of 'fundamental freedoms' -taking their
first breath of life, unhindered, outside of the womb?

Recently there was a very disturbing story on the local news about a
19 year old daycare worker who picked up a crying four month old baby girl
from off the floor and placed her on a changing table. She then placed
her hands over the infant's mouth and nose, and, according to
the police report, "intentionally restricted her breathing
until she became unresponsive."  The woman then placed the
motionless infant in a crib.

The suspect later told investigators that she was trying to get the
baby "to stop crying".  This woman is now in prison, awaiting trial
after being charged with first degree murder in the death of the infant.
And yet, in places like New York State, a woman has the right to abort
a baby right up until the time of his or her birth and walk away from
 her actions without punishment.

Doctors too, are permitted to withhold medical treatment
from a baby which survives an abortion, and allow the baby to die.
They will not have to face any charges of malpractice or murder.

What is the difference between this cruel and senseless act
committed by the daycare worker, smothering a helpless infant
to death, and the using of an abortion procedure to deliberately
terminate the life of a baby in the womb?
In my opinion, absolutely nothing!
Murder is murder!

How does God, the Creator of human life feel about this?

In Exodus 20:13 the Lord, speaking through Moses,
 commanded the nation of Israel,
"You shall not commit murder."

The Lord further instructed His people:
"Keep far from a false matter and be very careful not to
condemn to death the innocent and the righteous, for
I will not justify and acquit the wicked."
Exodus 23:7

The Book of Job reminds us that murder is a condition
of the human heart, a deliberate and conscious choice:
"The murderer rises with the light; he kills the poor and needy,
and in the night he becomes as a thief."
Job 24:14

Jesus best defined this wicked condition
of fallen mankind as He rebuked the self-righteous
and hypocritical religious leaders of His day, saying,

"You are of your father, the devil, and it is your will to practice
the lusts and gratify the desires which are characteristic of your father.
He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in truth,
because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a falsehood, he
speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar himself and the
father of lies and of all that is false."
