A Happy Birthday salute to the precious little girl whose
adorable personality and amazing singing and dancing
talents lifted the spirits of a Great Depression-weary nation.
America's own curly-topped sweetheart Shirley Temple!
After her Hollywood career, and in addition to becoming a wife
and the mother of three children, Shirley honorably served as
United States ambassador to Ghana and Czechoslovakia
and as Chief of Protocol of the United States.
🎂 Shirley Jane Temple was born on April 23, 1928. 🎂

One of my favorite scenes from the movie, "The Little Colonel"
is when six year old Shirley danced up and down the staircase
with the phenomenal dancer/ actor Bill "Bojangles" Robinson.
He called her, "Darlin" and she called him, "Uncle Billy".
They were the first interracial couple to dance onscreen.
In addition to becoming her favorite dance partner,
Shirley Temple and Bill Robinson remained lifelong friends.
