O God Our Words Cannot Express: Remembering September 11, 2001

Remembering the day which changed the
United States of America forever....

We will never forget

O God, our words cannot express
The pain we feel this day.
Enraged, uncertain, we confess
Our need to bow and pray.

We grieve for all who lost their lives...
And for each injured one.
We pray for children, husbands, wives,
Whose grief has just begun.

O Lord, we're called to offer prayer
For all our leaders too.
May they, amid such great despair,
Be wise in all they do.

We trust Your mercy and your grace;
In You we will not fear!
May peace and justice now embrace!
Be with Your people here!

Dear Father in Heaven,
Now more than ever before in the history of this nation
let Your grace and mercy,  justice, and peace prevail!

Pray For The Palins

"And I will restore and replace for you
the years that the locust have eaten..."
Joel 2:25

High School Sweethearts
Sarah Heath and Todd Palin

I was genuinely shocked and saddened this morning after
learning that former Alaska governor Sarah Palin and her
husband of 31 years, Todd, are allegedly getting a divorce.

The old saying about fame being a double-edged sword is true.

Although I  greatly admire the achievements of Sarah Palin,
a woman of my generation, first as the governor of Alaska,
and then as John McCain's scene stealing running mate
in the 2008 presidential election race, not to mention
sharing her love of America and our traditions as a
nation, the glare of being thrust into the national spotlight
and the loss of privacy for both herself and her family
 has apparently taken its toll.

The Palin Family

Husband Todd Palin, who has spent a good
chunk of his married life as the handsome "First Dude"
an unobtrusive spectator of his wife's meteoric political
career, and who, along with the couple's five children,
has endured the overwhelmingly negative focus of the
duplicitous mainstream media, as well as their mockery
of his wife and children, has  filed for divorce,
citing "incompatibility of temperament" that makes
"it impossible to live together as husband and wife."

 Calling All Prayer Warriors!

It's War Room Time!

While much of the news media gleefully gloats about the
break up of this couple, I pray that God will bless Todd
and Sarah and keep them and their family safe from all
the schemes of the enemy of their souls.  I pray that He will
heal the wounds and restore what has been lost in this marriage
and bring them and their family together again in the spirit
of love and mercy, forgiveness, and the "peace which
surpasses all understanding" found only in and through
Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen and Amen.

Ivory Palaces

Scenic Montreat North Carolina in autumn

"This song was written near to my home in the mountains of North Carolina.
In the summer of 1915, the famous evangelist, Dr. J. Wilbur Chapman, was
preaching at the Presbyterian conference grounds at Montreat.
With him were the song leader, Charles M. Alexander, soloist Albert Brown,
and their pianist Henry Barraclough.

Dr. John Wilbur Chapman
(1859-1918)
American evangelist

Barraclough, the author of this hymn, was a twenty-four year old Britisher;
he met Chapman the previous year during a preaching mission in England.
During the conference, the evangelist spoke one evening on the forty-fifth
Psalm. In 1893, Chapman had written a book called,
"Ivory Palaces of the King".

He believed, as I do, that this is a prophetic, "Messianic" psalm which
speaks of the relationship of Christ, the bridegroom, to His bride, the church...
After the evening service, "Charlie" Alexander and Henry Barraclough drove
some friends to the Blue Ridge YMCA Hostel a few miles away.

Sitting in the front seat of the car, young Barraclough thought about the
message and the four short phrases of the refrain began to take shape in his mind.
When they stopped at a little village store, he quickly wrote them down on a
"visiting card"-the only paper that was available.

Returning to the conference hotel, he worked out the first three stanzas,
using the outline of Chapman's message.  The following morning, Mrs. Alexander
and Mr. Brown sang the new hymn at the Montreat conference session."

"Your garments are all fragrant with myrrh, aloes, and cassia;
stringed instruments make You glad."
Psalm 45:8

Myrrh

My Lord has garments so wondrous fine,
And myrrh their texture fills;
Its fragrance reached to this heart of mine
With joy my being thrills.

(Refrain)
Out of the ivory palaces,
Into a world of woe,
Only His great eternal love
Made my Savior go.

His life had also its sorrows sore,
For aloes had a part;
And when I think of the cross He bore,
My eyes with teardrops start.

Aloe

(Refrain)
Out of the ivory palaces,
Into a world of woe,
Only His great eternal love
Made my Savior go.

His garments too were in cassia dipped,
With healing in a touch;
Each time my feet in some sin have slipped,
He took me from its clutch.

(Refrain)
Out of the ivory palaces,
Into a world of woe,
Only His great eternal love
Made my Savior go.

Cassia

In garments glorious He will come,
To open wide the door;
And I shall enter my heav'nly home,
To dwell forevermore.

(Refrain)
Out of the ivory palaces,
Into a world of woe,
Only His great eternal love
Made my Savior go.

Poppies In The Wheat

Along Ancona's hills the shimmering heat,

A tropic tide of air, with ebb and flow

Bathes all the fields of wheat until they glow

Like flashing seas of green, which toss and beat

Around the vines. The poppies lithe and fleet

Seem running, fiery torchmen, to and fro

To mark the shore. The farmer does not know

That they are there. He walks with heavy feet,

Counting the bread and wine by autumn's gain,

But I,-I smile to think that days remain

Perhaps to me in which, though bread be sweet

No more, and red wine warm my blood in vain,

I shall be glad remembering how the fleet,

Lithe poppies ran like torchmen with the wheat.

The Mystery of Ishmael Jonathan Cahn

"But the Angel of the Lord found her by a spring
of water in the wilderness on the road to Shur.
And He said, "Hagar, Sarai's maid, where are
you intending to go? And she said I am running away
from my mistress Sarai.

The Angel of the Lord said, "Go back to your mistress
and humbly submit to her control.  Also, the Angel said
to her, "I will multiply your descendants exceedingly, so
that they shall not be numbered for multitude.

And the Angel of the Lord continued, See now,
you are with child and shall bear a son and shall
call his name, Ishmael, (God hears) because the
Lord has heard and paid attention to your affliction."

DO NOT FRET OR HAVE ANY ANXIETY
ABOUT ANYTHING, BUT IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE
AND IN EVERYTHING, BY PRAYER AND PETITION
WITH THANKSGIVING, CONTINUE TO MAKE
YOUR WANTS KNOWN TO GOD...
AND GOD'S PEACE SHALL BE YOURS,
THE PEACE WHICH TRANSCENDS ALL UNDERSTANDING
SHALL GARRISON AND MOUNT GUARD OVER YOUR
