The Bladensburg Peace Cross Will Continue To Stand

In the cross of Christ I glory,
towering o'er the wrecks of time;
all the light of sacred story
gathers round its head sublime..."

Bladensburg Peace Cross
Bladensburg, Maryland

For nearly a century, this war memorial has stood to honor the memory of
49 brave American heroes who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the world
during World War I  which has been called, "The war to end all wars."

In recent years, a group calling itself the "American Humanist Association"
has claimed to be "offended" by the presence of the cross which stands near
a busy intersection in the state of Maryland.  They took legal action to try
to have the memorial taken down despite the fact that it was originally
built on private property and constructed through private funding.

However, on June 20, the United States Supreme Court ruled 7-2 in
favor of allowing the Bladensburg Peace Cross to continue to stand
unmolested by the enemies of God seeking to destroy it.

The "American Humanist Association" claim that the cross is
'offensive' to non-Christians,  is a twisted truth at best.
I suppose the cross is an offense to many non-Christians who
are ignorant of it's true significance and of our history as a nation.

While we are considered a "melting pot" of many races and religions,
America was founded on the Judeo-Christian concepts within the
Holy Bible.  This truth does not bode well with the immoral, freedom-crushing,
political and social objectives of the  godless communist-socialist entities within
our government, nor with secular civil action groups like the AHA.

Meanwhile, our glorious Liberty Bell, while not an actual symbol of Christ,
decries the claims of the godless with an inscription from the Book of Leviticus,
which has declared to Americans for many generations, the mandate of
freedom's God as spoken to ancient Israel through His prophet, Moses:

"Proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all inhabitants thereof."
(Leviticus 25:10)
