The Great Conjunction Of December

Stars of December, shining so bright,
Do you remember one holy night,
When from the portals of realms above,
Radiant immortals sang of God's love?

Those who love watching the night sky will be in for a rare celestial
treat this month and it is being called the greatest planet alignment ever!

On December 21, 2020, which also marks the day of the winter solstice,
the planet Jupiter will come so close to the planet Saturn it will appear as if
these two largest planets in our solar system are one great big star shining
down from the heavens!  Almost like the famous "Star of Bethlehem"
which the wise men from the east were following to find the Christ Child.

The "Great Conjunction" of these planets will be seen worldwide and according
to the folks at the Old Farmer's Almanac, an event like this happens once every
twenty years and this year, 2020, will bring the closest conjunction between
Jupiter and Saturn since the year 1623, and the life time of
Galileo di Vincenzo Bonaiuti de Galilei, better known as Galileo,
the Italian astronomer, physicist, and engineer, and
"the father of observational astronomy".

I just hope that the skies will be clear on December 21st so I can
see this spectacular event up close and personal!
