This morning I watched the movie, "The Man Who Captured Eichmann"
a 1996 film which recounts the capture of the notorious Adolf Eichmann,
a high-ranking Nazi officer and member of the Schultzstaffel, (SS).
Eichmann was considered one of the premier architects of the Holocaust.
After the war, he escaped from justice and was living under an assumed
name in Buenos Aires, Argentina. However, after being recognized
by a survivor of a concentration camp, he was tracked down by the
Israeli Mossad, captured, and taken back to Israel to stand trial
for crimes against humanity, crimes against the Jewish people,
and for his membership in a criminal organization.
He was convicted on all charges and later executed by hanging in 1962.
Eichmann's excuse for his crimes: "I was only following orders."
It makes me wonder whether the captured Hamas terrorists will plead the same
disgusting excuse for the horrific October 7th massacre of Israeli citizens and others.
Will some of them now realize that they have been left to swing in the wind by
their masters- primarily Yaha Sinwar- and will risk cooperating with Israel in
order to bring him and the other murderous cowards which make up the Hamas
hierarchy to a swift and certain justice? It remains to be seen.
