Wednesday's Word: Hamashglach Nafshoteikhem "Watcher Of Our Souls"

For "you were like sheep going astray" but now you have returned to
the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls."
(1 Peter 2:25)

PSALM 43

Vindicate me, O God, and plead my cause

against an ungodly nation;

deliver me from deceitful and unjust men.

For You are the God of my refuge.

Why have You rejected me?

Why must I walk in sorrow

because of the enemy's oppression?

Send out Your light and Your truth;

let them lead me.

Let them bring me to Your holy mountain

and to the place where You dwell.

 Then I will go to the altar of God,

to God, my greatest joy.

I will praise You with the harp,

O God, my God.

Why are your downcast, O my soul?

Why the unease within me?

Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him,

my Savior and my God.

 As in the words of the apostle Peter, the psalmist reveals that in the midst
  of personal despair and the weariness of living amid unrighteous people
in an ungodly nation, the Lord Jesus Christ is a compassionate watcher
of our souls. As the Good Shepherd, He will lead us and preserve every
 person that places their hope and trust in Him.
