Saturday Night At The Movies: Meet Me In St. Louis

"Meet me in St. Louie, Louie, meet me at the fair!"

Meet Me In St. Louis
(1944)

One of my all time favorite movies,  "Meet Me In St. Louis"
is a wonderful turn-of-the-century musical which centers around the daily
life of the Smith family and the upcoming Louisiana Purchase Exposition,
better known as the 1904 World's Fair, which was held in St. Louis, Missouri.

Love-struck teenager Esther Smith, played by Judy Garland,
is often shocked by the mischievous antics of her baby sister,
Tootie, played by child actress Margaret O'Brien.

One of the highlights of this film features the beautiful
voice of Judy Garland singing the classic Christmas song,
"Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas".

I won't be a spoiler and tell you why little Tootie
is crying in this scene.  Instead, watch the movie
 for yourself and find out!
