I was probably ten
Or may be younger then
Mother said the package was for me
It was wrapped all so pretty
To open it seemed a pity.
Darling Patsy Babykin Doll and her twin brother Skippy
(circa 1930's)
She said it was from Aunty dear
Just another doll I fear
But carefully I opened it
Ever so neatly bit by bit
At last I could see
Just what it might be
It wasn't just a toy
It was a doll boy
Patsy would have a brother
And I'd care for him like a mother
I love Patsy you see
And they are both Effanbee
Of course I didn't know that then
For I was only just about ten.
