On My Mind: The Most Important Defense

"Then King David went in and sat before the Lord and said,
"Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house, that You
have brought me this far?

Then as if this were a little thing in Your eyes, O Lord God,
You have spoken also of Your servant's house in the far distant
future. And this is the law for men, O Lord God!"

What more can David say to You? For You know Your servant,
O Lord God.  Because of Your promise and as Your own heart
dictates. You have done all these astonishing things to make
Your servant know and understand.

Therefore, You are great, O Lord God, for none is like You,
nor is there any God beside You, according to all You
have made our ears to hear."
(II Samuel 7:18-22)

The fact that the U.S. Senate-by a very slim margin on Wednesday-
voted to repeal President Biden's vaccine mandates for businesses sort
of gives me a measure of hope that all is not lost for our nation.

However, it appalls me that only two members of the Democratic Party,
Senator Joe Manchin (WV) and Senator John Tester (MT), voted with
the Republicans to stop this unconstitutional and clear overreach of
the federal government into the lives of the American people.

But it has not gone far enough.  While Covid-19 has taken a heavy
and tragic toll on our nation, with many lives lost to the virus, at the
same time it is being used as a political weapon by those intent on
destroying this free Republic, and transforming our beloved America
into a lawless,  free-for-all socialist hellhole with a passel of
self-righteous, greedy, and unethical oligarchist ringmasters
running the freak show in Washington DC.

The most important defense the American people have is that
this nation was founded by people, whose names are now known only
to God, who believed in their right to worship Him in spirit and in truth,
and who, relying on their unshakable faith in Him, sailed across the
ocean from Europe to escape political and religious persecution, and
found refuge on the shores of the New World.

And who, upon setting thankful feet on dry land again, dedicated
their new home to the Lord Jesus Christ.  I believe this is our true
national heritage. This is the reason why, in the 245 years of our
existence, America has prospered like no other nation on the
face of the earth.  In the words of the famous song,
"America! America! God shed His grace on thee."
This is the truth.

Immigrants who may not of been of the Christian faith have also
been able to come here over the years, many of them fleeing religious,
racial, and social persecution in their own lands, to live in relative
peace and safety and in hope of living the American dream.
The same is true today.

While the Left continually squawks about America's "racial inequality
due to white supremacy" ad nauseam, their politically-motivated vitriol
has failed to prevent refugees from teeming at our border, desperate to
come across in hope of having a better life for themselves and their families.

However, in order to bring real healing and restoration to our nation,
we need responsible and accountable leadership, whom first and foremost
honor God in their lives, and are not afraid to be seen, not only praying for
the wisdom and guidance needed in order to lead our nation, but calling
out to God in true and humble repentance for the grievous sins America
has committed in His sight, of which abortion is probably the most
egregious of all national offenses, as it destroys the very
likeness and image of God Himself.

The second most important defense which all American citizens have
at their disposal is the Constitution of the United States-in the way it was
originally written- with the Bill of Rights to be regarded as sacrosanct,
or far too important to be tampered with by those who insist that
this most glorious record of our freedom is "a living document"
which needs to be updated to reflect, "the changing cultural
and social mores of our society."

In other words, obliterated, in order to take away the rights
of the American people to speak their minds, practice
their faith, and especially, from owning a firearm,
to defend themselves and their families, not only from lawless
intruders, but from the clutches of tyrannical government.
