Geminids Meteor Shower Peaks Tonight

Sky Watchers across the globe will be lifting their eyes
to the heavens tonight as the spectacular Geminids Meteor
Shower reaches its peak this evening and into the early
morning hours of Tuesday December 14th.

The "Old Faithful" of meteor showers can be viewed
anywhere in the Northern Hemisphere, and according to
Bob Berman of the Old Farmer's Almanac.com, expect to
see 50 to 60 shooting stars per hour streaking across the sky,
provided that your view is unobstructed from light pollution,
or surrounding ground light, like the glare from your
next door neighbor's outdoor Christmas lights display.

So, if the skies are clear where you are, bring out a folding chair,
or may be even a sleeping bag, or set up a tent in the back yard,
(depending on the air temperature, of course!)
and settle in for this amazing celestial event!
