Flashback Friday: If I Were A Rich Man

 

Acclaimed Israeli actor Chaim Topol passed away this week at the age of 87.
He was best known for his performance (both on the stage and screen) as
the Dairyman Teyve, in the musical, "Fiddler On The Roof".
May he rest in eternal peace.

Based on a series of stories by Yiddish author and playwright Sholem Aleichim,
"Fiddler On The Roof" centers around Teyve, a Jewish peasant, living out
a precarious existence, along with his wife and five daughters, in a village
in the Pale of Settlement in turn-of-the-century Imperial Russia.

This movie is one of my all time favorite musicals!
