sits and smiles on the night."

July's Full Moon is called the Buck Moon because at this time of the year, the male deer,
known as the buck, achieves growing a full rack of antlers. According to The Old Farmer's
Almanac, the lengthening daylight in spring triggers the hormones which start the
rapid growth process. Buck antlers can easily be spotted in "full velvet" by July.
According to the website, Mossy Oak: "The antler growing process is very
interesting and one of the most unique cycles in the animal kingdom."
Male deer usually shed their antlers before the mating season starts in the fall.
The moon will reach peak illumination at 4:36 pm EDT this afternoon and will become
visible as it rises over the southeastern horizon at sunset. On the East Coast, moonrise will
take place around 8:53 pm. I am not sure I will get to see the full moon tonight as it has
been mostly overcast today, but I am hoping the skies will clear by nightfall.
🌝 Hope the skies are clear where you are at tonight! 🌝
