Italian-American songstress and native born Jersey girl Concetta Rosa Maria Franconero
better known as Connie Francis, passed away this week at the age of 87.

One of the most popular top-charting female vocalists of the late 1950's and early 1960's
her beautiful voice is estimated to have sold more than 100 million records worldwide.
I always loved Connie's role as the perky college co-ed Angie in the 1961 beach movie,
"Where The Boys Are". Connie also sang the title song from the film, which not only became
one of her greatest hit records, but her signature song as well. May she rest in eternal peace.
