sings this patriotic anthem better than the legendary Ray Charles.
In 1976, when our nation celebrated her bicentennial birthday, this soulful version
by Mr. Charles peaked at Number 98 on the US R&B chart. For many years,
his version has been played at the annual ball drop in NYC on New Year's Eve.
