Super Snow Moon Tonight

As the East Coast of the United States, especially the
northern Mid-Atlantic region, braces for another blast
of cold and snow from Old Man Winter, February's
Super Snow Moon will be sailing across the skies tonight!
(Or behind the increasing clouds)

February's Full Snow Moon

According to the Farmer's Almanac, this month's
moon is a "supermoon" which means the Moon is at it's
closest point in its orbit to the Earth.  This moon will
be the nearest, largest, brightest full Moon of the year!

Does The Full Moon Affect The Weather?

Yes!  The gravitational pull of the full moon will
affect the ocean tides.  High tides can be significantly
higher at the time.  Tides affect the intensity of storms.

Does The Full Moon Affect Human Minds?

Although science has attempted to debunk the affect the
full moon has on human beings as a myth, many people have
long believed that not only does the full moon affect the
weather, but that more babies are born during the full
moon than at any other time in the month.
Many people claim that more violence is committed
during the full moon as well, and that people with
unstable minds become even more agitated due to
the affect of the moon on the earth.

Stories of werewolves- or ordinary men being transformed into
blood-thirsty beasts at full moon-have been popular for centuries.
Yet, the sanguine fairy tales of yesteryear are indeed a far cry
from the modern conception of  your friendly neighborhood
fanged shape shifters who are able to pine away for the
love of human beings instead of devouring them in
a wolfish blood bath as the old legends tell.
Ditto for those merciless blood-sucking demons called vampires.
I do not believe even old Dracula would recognize his kind anymore!

"Woe to those who call evil good and good evil..."
Isaiah 5:20

But let's return to the subject of the moon...

God created the moon in all it's lovely silvery brilliance to
rule over the night as the glorious sun rules over the day.
Believers need never to be afraid of the dark.

In time to come says God, "...the moon will be confounded and
the sun ashamed, when they compare their ineffectual fire to the
light of the Lord of hosts, Who will reign on Mount Zion and
in Jerusalem, and before His elders will show forth His glory."
Isaiah 24:23
