Dean Caswell
American Marine Fighter Pilot & Veteran
of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.

Born in California, Caswell enlisted in the United States Marine Corps
in September 1942 and served in combat during the Pacific theater of
World War II.  He later served in the Korean War in the 1950's and
in the Vietnam War in the 1960's.

During World War II, Caswell was serving on the USS Bunker Hill and
flew over 100 missions, destroying dozens of enemy aircraft in the air and
many more on the ground.  He was later awarded the Silver Star for gallantry
against a wartime enemy after an air battle in which he and his two wingmen
were outnumbered by 25 Japanese planes.  While Caswell managed to
shoot down 7 of these planes, his wingmen shot down 10 or more.

Caswell also received three Distinguished Flying Crosses,
and five Air Medals.  He was promoted to first lieutenant in July, 1945.

May he rest in eternal peace.
