Full Hunter's Moon Tonight

"... a shot rings out beyond the field to fill the smokehouse walls
with venison and savory pork before the winter calls..."*

Pa Ingalls catches a bear unaware and brings home the bacon too!*

October's full Hunter's Moon will rise just after sunset tonight.

This moon marks the traditional time for wild game hunting,
food preparation, and storage for the upcoming winter season.

According to the folks at the Old Farmer's Almanac, tonight's moon
will barely slide into the Earth's shadow, producing a 1% eclipse
which will be visible mainly from Asia.

In my neck of the woods, the penumbral portion of the eclipse may
be visible but will not alter the moon's appearance.  Lovely Luna
will sail across the Autumn night sky while in conjunction with
the equally bedazzling, eye-catching planet Jupiter.

A beautiful sight to behold, indeed!

I hope the skies are clear where you're at tonight, fellow sky watchers!
