Wednesday's Word: O Grant Us Light

"For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see light."
(Psalm 36:9)

O grant us light , that we may know

The wisdom Thou alone canst give;

That truth may guide wher-e'er we go,

And virtue bless wher-e'er we live.

O grant us light, that we may see

Where error lurks in human lore,

And turn our seeking minds to Thee,

And love Thy holy Word the more.

O grant us light, that we may learn

How dead is life from Thee apart,

How sure is joy for all who turn

To Thee an undivided heart.

O grant us light, when, soon or late,

All earthly scenes shall pass away,

In Thee to find the open gate

To death-less home and endless day.

"Once again, Jesus spoke to the people and said,  "I Am the Light of the world.
Whoever follows Me will never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life."
(John 8:12)
