September's Full Harvest Moon will be part of a spectacular celestial event!
In addition to being a Super Moon, there will also be a partial lunar eclipse tonight!
According to Space.com the Moon will start entering Earth's partial shadow
starting at 8:41 PM EDT. The eclipse will turn the moon a murky red-
brown color when the Earth's shadow descends upon the lunar surface.
The eclipse will reach its peak about 10:44 PM and will begin to exit the Earth's
shadow at 11:16 PM and the partial shadow at 12:27 AM Wednesday morning.
Although the partial lunar eclipse will be visible from almost all of North
America, the skies are mainly overcast here in my neck of the woods so
I am not sure we will be able to see the moon tonight. But, I hope the skies
will be clear where you are at my fellow sky watchers!🌝
