"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds,
curing their pains and sorrows."
(Psalm 147:3)
When the cares of life are crowding
Thick and fast upon your soul,
And your light has turned to darkness
Ere you reach the longed for goal,
Let your heart be brave and trusting,
While you clasp the Savior's hand;
For, no matter what the burden,
He will surely understand.
Just to know Jesus cares,
Just to know Jesus cares;
In the darkest night,
O what wondrous light!
Just to know He cares.
What a blessing when temptations
Come with overwhelming power,
And a sin seems O so little,
In the weakness of the hour.
That we have a loving Jesus
By whose grace the soul expands,
Gaining strength to meet and conquer
Just because He understands.
Just to know Jesus cares,
Just to know Jesus cares;
In the darkest night,
O what wondrous light!
Just to know He cares.
When our souls are freed from sorrows,
And the glad new day has dawned,
We shall see with brightened vision
Where the dark despairs had yawned.
We may look into the beauty
Of His face, in that fair land,
Seeing all its love and glory
When we, too, shall understand.
Just to know Jesus cares,
Just to know Jesus cares;
In the darkest night,
O what wondrous light!
Just to know He cares.
