Thursday's Thoughts: The Beguiling Voice

"And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes
shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good from evil."
(Genesis 3:5)

"I don't hate the president and I pray for him. I don't feel there's a
need to apologize and for a request for mercy."
- Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde

Of course you do not feel the need to apologize, Ms. Bishop.
Satan never felt the need to apologize after he lied to Eve either.
He knew what would happen once she ate of the forbidden fruit,
along with her complaisant husband, Adam.
Both of them would die.

The enemy of the souls of mankind never requested or expected
mercy or a pardon from God.  His mission was accomplished
for the time being.  Thankfully, God had another plan in mind.

But God did punished the serpent, which had allowed Satan to enter into
his body so that he could implement the fall in the Garden.  Just like you,
Ms. Bishop,  perhaps inadvertently,  permitted Satan to enter in and use
your voice as a mouthpiece at the National Prayer Service this past Tuesday.

You say that you regret the response from your little performance
in the pulpit, but let's be real here. You knew that your words
were actually an accusation, clearly spoken in that soft,
beguiling voice of yours.  But what was said and the way
in which it was said only reflected the bitterness and
unforgiveness within your heart.

You are angry that President Trump signed an executive order
declaring that the United States of America recognizes only
two genders-male and female.  Yet, he was only reiterating
a known truth, one that you have chosen to forsake in
your support of a diabolical political agenda.

"So God created man in His own image, in the image of God
created he him; male and female created He them."
(Genesis 2:27)

Your lament over the president's actions was accompanied
by the patently false insinuation that he is frightening children.

"There are gay, lesbian, and transgender children in Democratic,
Republican, and independent families, some who fear for their lives," you said.

But why would they fear for their lives?   Is it the patriotic supporters
of Donald Trump whom they should fear?  Or is it the modern day
Dr. Mengeles waiting to mutilate or cut off their genitals and feed
them hormone replacements in order to "transform" them
from one gender to another?  This represents your side
of the argument, Ms. Bishop.

The Far Left's deception of "transgender ideology" is not only
appallingly evil, but, has been far more likely to generate fear
and cause suffering in the hearts of the innocent and vulnerable
children who have been victimized by it.

You also made yourself very clear that you oppose the President's new
policies on immigration, and how those who "pick our crops and clean
our office buildings; who labor in poultry farms and meat packing plants;
who wash dishes after we eat in restaurants and work the night shifts in
hospitals...they may not be citizens or have the proper documentation.
But the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals. They pay
taxes and are good neighbors."

While I cannot fault your statement, Ms. Bishop, the fact remains that despite
being good workers and neighbors who pay taxes, they are trespassers
if they remain illegal aliens within the United States.  Furthermore,
the Americans they serve in restaurants and hospitals, etc. did
not choose to break the laws of our nation.  You made it sound as
if the majority of Americans are taking advantage of these people.
This is not right or fair, especially to Americans who have
lost jobs to illegal immigrant labor.

Instead of blasting Mr. Trump with your thinly veiled words of criticism,
you should have apologized to him for the mess he has inherited from
past administrations, and especially, the last four years under Biden-Harris,
and their disastrous no-holds-barred open borders policy.

You should have extended condolences on behalf of the nation to
the parents and family of murdered nursing student Laken Riley,
and other Americans who have lost loved ones to foreign criminals
allowed to cross our borders through the lax policies of Joe Biden.

Have you ever considered how frightened Laken must
have felt during her last moments of life?

Maybe you should have shared some new ideas (if you have any) with the president
in which the hard-working, tax-paying friends and neighbors you asked him to
have mercy on could stay in our nation.

Perhaps he will enact new and fairer  legislation which would make
it a lot easier for them to  become permanent naturalized citizens
of the United States of America.
You did not even give him a chance.

But, this is apparently not your mission.  Your Diocese's biography page claims
that you are " a passionate believer in the gospel of Jesus Christ." You are committed
to the spiritual and numerical growth of congregations and developing "new
expressions" of Christian community.

This includes the acceptance of the LGBTQ lifestyle within the church,
racial equity, gun violence prevention, immigration reform, and the care
of creation.  You further believe that  Jesus calls all who follow Him to
strive for peace and justice and "to respect the dignity of every human being".

Was your sermonizing before the nation intended to show "respect and
dignity" to President Donald Trump?  Apparently not.   Instead, you merely
added your own two cents to the unreasonable profound hatred and contempt
for this man interspersed with "pleas for mercy".

It was Almighty God Himself who approved the sovereignty of each nation:

"From one man He made every nation of men, and they should inhabit the whole
earth; and He determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands."
(Acts 17:26)

Our President took an oath to defend the American people and nation.
Yes, we are a land founded on immigrant labor. But those who came
here in the past, like my ancestors, became citizens of the United States.
They were not offended to learn the English language or assimilate into
American culture, in fact, many were proud and thankful to have
the opportunity to do so.   But times and attitudes have changed.

I do not have to recount the horrors which have resulted in America
due to unchecked illegals being allowed to flow across our borders,
unhindered by the last administration.  In addition to the gangs,
drugs,  human traffickers,  missing children, have you ever
thought about the possible carriers of diseases who've been
allowed to come here, Ms. Bishop?  Those who have come from
nations where there have been and still are outbreaks of Ebola
and the West Nile virus?  Or, those illegals who could be
carriers of diseases which were basically eradicated in
America during the last century- tuberculosis, cholera,
polio, German measles, and diphtheria? Is it fair that
American citizens, including yourself and your family,
could be exposed to these illnesses due to the Biden
administration's gross and deliberate dereliction of duty?

Instead of pleading for mercy from President Trump, I think
you would be better off climbing down from your bully pulpit
and plead instead for the mercy and pardon of God on
this nation, our people, and especially, yourself.

"For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God, and if it begins
with us, what will the outcome be for those who disobey the gospel of God?"
(1 Peter 4:7)
