Wednesday's Word: Seh HaElohim/ "The Lamb Of God"

 

 

 "It is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul."
(Leviticus 17:11)

"This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sin." 
(Matthew 26:28)

"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses,
according to the riches of His grace." 
(Ephesians 1:7)

 "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and riches,
and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing!  And
I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth
and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying,

"To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb, be praise,
 and honor and glory and power forever and ever!" 
(Revelation 5:12-13)

The atoning work is done,

The victim's blood is shed;

And Jesus now is gone

His people's cause to plead;

He stands in Heaven their great high priest,

And bears their names upon His breast. 

 

He sprinkles with His blood

The mercy-seat above;

For justice had withstood

The purposes of love:

But justice now objects no more,

And mercy yields her boundless store. 

 

No temple made with hands

His place of service is;

In Heaven itself He stands 

A heavenly priesthood His:

In Him the shadows of the law

Are all fulfilled, and now withdraw. 

 

And although awhile He be

Hid from the eyes of men,

His people look to see

Their great high priest again:

In brightest glory He will come,

And take His waiting people home.
