A cover of the original song written and recorded by country music
legend Dolly Parton, "I Will Always Love You" was recorded for
the movie, "The Bodyguard" by singer Whitney Houston ( who made
her acting debut in the movie, co-starring with Kevin Costner) and
was the Number One Hit song in America on February 27, 1993.
It's hard to believe that was over 30 years ago!
My oldest son Daniel was born that same year.
Houston's beautiful rendition of this song won the Record of the Year,
Album of the Year, and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance
at the 36th Annual Grammy Awards in 1994. She also
performed the song at the ceremony.
One of the most famous and iconic singles of all time, "I Will Always Love You"
by Whitney Houston sold over 24 million copies worldwide, making it the best-
selling single by a female artist of all time.
