Flashback Friday: My Love

"And when I go away...I know my heart can stay with my love, it's understood,
It's in the hands of my love...And my love, does it good..."

Released in March, 1973 as the lead single from the album, "Red Rose Speedway" by
the English band Paul McCartney and Wings, the former Beatles member wrote "My Love"
for his wife and fellow band mate, Linda Eastman McCartney. Although given an unfavorable
reception by some music critics who thought the lyrics were too sentimental, the song topped
the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US  for four weeks, while peaking at Number 9 on the
UK Singles Chart. Paul McCartney's heartfelt tribute to the woman who was the love
of his life was viewed as Wings' first hit song in America and helped to make
"Red Rose Speedway" a commercial success that year.
