Wednesday's Word: Ben-Avraham "Son Of Abraham"

"And the LORD took him outside and said, "Now look to the heavens and count the stars,
if you are able."  Then he told him, "So shall your offspring be."  And Abraham believed
the LORD and it was credited to him as righteousness."
(Genesis 15:5-6)

"The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and foretold
the gospel to Abraham: "All nations will be blessed through you."
(Galatians 3:8)

"The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his Seed. The Scripture does not say,
"and to seeds" meaning many, but "and to your Seed, meaning one, who is Christ."
(Galatians 3:16)

"There is neither Jew nor Greek (Gentile) slave nor free, male nor female,
for you are all one in Christ Jesus."
(Galatians 3:28)

"...for ye are all one in Christ Jesus; being alike, chosen in Him, united to Him,
redeemed by His blood, justified by His righteousness, regenerated by His Spirit,
the children of God by faith in Him, and heirs of the same grace and glory, they
make Jews and Gentiles, bond and free, male and female, as if were but one
new man in Him, one body, of which He is the head, one spiritual seed
of Abraham and of Christ."
-Gill's Exposition of the Entire Bible

In summary, the term, "Son of Abraham" encapsulates a rich tapestry of faith,
promise, and divine purpose, bringing the Old and New Testaments and uniting
believers across generations in the shared heritage of faith in the one true God.
