"When you look to the heavens and see the sun and the moon and stars-
all the hosts of heaven-do not be enticed to bow down and worship what
the LORD your God appointed to all the nations under heaven."
(Deuteronomy 4:19)
This year's Full Worm Moon provided a double celestial treat for sky watchers
having been paired with a total lunar eclipse. For those early risers who were
fortunate enough to see this wonder of wonders in the heavens reach it's
maximum totality at 6:33 a.m. Tuesday morning, the Moon was said to have
given off a coppery red or orange glow-hence the term, "Blood Moon".
Although due to cloud cover and spotty rain showers I missed the opportunity to
see what is being called by some as a " rare and strange celestial sight" traditionally
thought impossible- the rising sun and the eclipsed moon in the sky at the same time-
the Bible assures us, "What has been will be again, and what has been done
will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun."
(Ecclesiastes 1:9)
What is interesting to note is that this will be the third blood moon to occur during
the Feast of Purim, which commemorates Israel's deliverance from Haman's
wicked decree in ancient Persia 2500 years ago.
Only days before the third blood moon rose on Purim, the modern day leaders
of Persia (Iran) were taken out in a surprise daytime military strike by
Israel and America, which will hopefully bring a permanent end to one
of the most brutal regimes in world history. This remains to be seen.
I believed only God can truly liberate Iran, by destroying the mantle of
satanic darkness over that nation, which has kept the people there in bondage
to a spirit of murder and death called Islam. Will the war accomplish this?
Will a new government seek democratic reforms which will allow religious
freedom, so that my faithful brothers and sisters in the underground church
there will be able to rise up and witness, unhindered, the powerful, soul-
saving message of salvation in and through the Lord Jesus Christ to
the lost and hurting people in that nation, and subsequently across
the Middle East? I pray it will be so!
Pray also for the peace of Jerusalem and the salvation of Israel. Maranatha!
