Thirty-six years ago today-April 24, 1990-the Hubble Telescope was launched
by NASA into low earth orbit. This large and versatile telescope, named after
American astronomer Edwin Hubble, captured some of the most hauntingly
beautiful images from outer space never seen before that time.
