The day after I learned about the death of singer Olivia Newton-John,
I found an earlier news report from Down Under announcing the passing
of another beautiful Australian singer, Judith Durham. She was the
lead vocalist of the iconic 1960's Aussie folk band, "The New Seekers".
May she rest in eternal peace.

Judith is probably best remembered for singing the catchy
title tune from the classic 1966 movie, "Georgy Girl" an offbeat
romantic comedy set in London during "The Swinging Sixties".
While the movie was a major success at the box office,
the song became a hit in late 1966 and early 1967, reaching
number one in Australia and number three in Great Britain.
In the United States, "Georgy Girl" was The New Seekers'
highest chart single, reaching the number one spot on the
Cash Box Top 100 and number two on the Billboard Hot 100.
"I'm A Believer" by The Monkees kept the song
from reaching the number one spot.
