"When I behold Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars,
which You have set in place...what is man that You are mindful of him,
or the son of man that You care for him?"

As usual, I rose up early this morning to satisfy the demands of our hungry
house cat, who kept jumping up on my bed and knocking things over in my room,
not to mention uttering piteous yowls in his strange cat language in order to
wake me up. This was also when I happened to look out the window and towards
the east, where dawn was just beginning to break. However, my attention was
drawn upwards at two gleaming objects hovering near each other in the sky.
According to The Old Farmer's Almanac, the year's most glorious planetary
conjunction between dazzling Venus and brilliant Jupiter will be visible
in the predawn skies this month, and especially, on the
morning of Tuesday, August 12th.
I even dragged my two sons out of bed and outside to see these
two planets suspended in the clear morning sky above the earth.
Although both were tired and cranky, they nevertheless seemed
as impressed as I was by this marvel of God's wonderful creation!
