Hollywood legend and actor-director Robert Redford died peacefully at
his home in Utah today. He was 89 years old. May he rest in eternal peace.
One of my favorites of his many movies is the American romance drama,
"This Property Is Condemned" released by Paramount Pictures in 1966.
Based on the 1946 one act Tennessee Williams play by the same name,
Bob plays a railroad official named Owen Legate who is sent to the sleepy
southern town of Dodson, Mississippi on an unpleasant errand- to close
down much of the railway- which is the community's main source of income.
While there, he meets and falls in love with the beautiful, flirtatious Alva Starr
(Natalie Wood) and later she run off to find him in New Orleans to escape
from her scheming mother's controlling influence. But no spoilers here!

Theme song from, "This Property Is Condemned"
In Memory of Robert Redford
Wish me a rainbow, and wish me a star.
All this you can give me,
Wherever you are;
And dreams for my pillow,
And stars for my eyes,
And a masquerade ball
Where our love wins first prize.
Wish me red roses, and yellow balloons,
And black sequins (carousels) whirling
To gay dancing tunes.
I want all these treasures;
The most you can give.
So, wish me a rainbow
As long as I live!
All my tomorrows
Depend on your love.
So, wish me a rainbow
Above!
All my tomorrows
Depend on your love.
So, wish me a rainbow above!
