Only hours ago, a horrific mass shooting occurred at the Ramot Junction in Jerusalem,
which took the lives of at least six Israeli citizens and injured many others.
According to Israeli media, while not claiming responsibility for the attack,
the terrorist group Hamas declared this latest assault on innocent Israeli
commuters, "a heroic operation". They further stated: "We affirm that
this operation is a natural response to the occupation's crimes and
war of extermination it is waging against our people."
Israel National News reports that two Palestinian terrorists not only opened
fire at pedestrians at Ramot Junction, but that they also boarded a bus and
shot passengers in the head from close range using automatic weapons.
The two suspects were later shot and killed by an haredi IDF soldier and
an armed civilian haredi yeshiva student. Meanwhile, police have blocked
off the area and are conducting extensive searches for additional suspects.
My heart and my prayers are with the families who have lost their
loved ones in this senseless tragedy. I further pray that those who were
wounded in the attack this morning will fully recover from their injuries.
