God Hath Spoken By His Prophets

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,
the Beginning and the End."

God hath spoken by His prophets,

Spoken His unchanging Word,

Each from age to age proclaiming

God, the One, the righteous Lord;

'Mid the world's despair  and turmoil,

One firm anchor holdeth fast;

God is King, His throne eternal,

God the first and God the last.

"The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.
We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son
from the Father, full of grace and truth."
(John 1:14 )

God hath spoken by Christ Jesus,

the Everlasting Son,

Brightness of the Father's glory,

With the Father ever one;

Spoken by the Word Incarnate,

God of God, ere time began,

Light of Light, to earth descending,

Man, revealing God to man.

"No eye has seen, nor ear has heard, no heart has imagined, what God
has prepared for those who love Him.  But God has revealed it to us by
the Spirit.  The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God."
(1 Corinthians 2:9-10 )

 God yet speaketh by His Spirit,

Speaketh to the hearts of men,

In the age-long Word expounding

God's own message, now as then;

Through the rise and fall of nations,

One sure faith yet standing fast,

God abides, His Word unchanging,

God the first, and God the last.

Amen
