Dear Editor:  There is an old saying that goes something like this:

"If a lie is repeated often enough it is soon mistaken for the truth."

In response to the recent article, "A Bush Plus" (The Sentinel 9-1 issue),
it's time to separate the facts from media-spun fiction. First of all, whoever
wrote this scathing re-hash of half-truths, innuendo and outright lies should
have the courage to sign their name. I personally feel that the use of anonymity
in this case is a sign of cowardice, on the same level as a nameless suicide
bomber boarding a bus full of innocent passengers.

The recent eviction of the Israeli people from Gaza is a heartbreaking tragedy.
The rightful owners of the land have been uprooted, their homes and businesses
razed, forsaken by their government in the name of "peace".  Israel has again
been forced to make concessions to their sworn enemies and at what cost?

Does (Prime Minister) Ariel Sharon really believe that his country's enemies
will be appeased by his generosity? It's time for a big reality check. The ultimate
goal of the Palestinian Authority and their cohorts in the terror industry is to
literally drive Israel into the sea.  Furthermore, Sharon is hardly guilty of
"seizing large parts of Palestine in the past."

Before 1964, which first introduced the world to Yassar Arafat and the Palestinian
Liberation Organization, there wasn't any displaced Palestinian population. The
"entity" of three million (displaced Arabs) was an invention of the wily Arafat,
himself an illegal alien born in Egypt!

Before Israel was declared a country in 1948, this region of the world was home
to both Jews and Arabs, Druse, Armenians, and scattered tribes of Bedouin nomads,
(living under the auspices of British-occupied "Palestine".) Palestine was named by
the Romans and translates to mean, "land of the Philistines".

Aside from placing his nation's security in serious jeopardy, Sharon is only guilty
to kow-towing to the "peace brokers" of the world, much to the chagrin of his fellows
in the Israeli Knesset.  The United Nations, The European Union, and the U.S. are
all primary backers of the precarious, "Roadmap To Peace" strategy yet, they all
hold their collective breaths when actually envisioning a "Palestinian State".

They all know that this "state" will not prosper the average Palestinian man,
woman, and child, but will more than likely become a breeding ground for a
new generation of terrorists.  What will be the next concession that Israel
will be forced to make? Could their next offering include the West Bank,
( ancient Judea and Samaria) or possibly, the holy city of Jerusalem?

President Bush says that he is a friend of Israel. He also claims to be a Bible-
believing Christian. If this is the truth then why is he so woefully ignorant
concerning the property rights of the tribes of Israel and their descendants?

The fifteenth chapter of the Book of Joshua clearly outlines the divine bequeathing
of the land of Israel by Jehovah God to His chosen people, particularly the following
passage concerning their rightful ownership to the land recently vacated:

"Gaza with its towns and villages, as far as the Brook of Egypt and
the Great (Mediterranean) Sea with its coastline." (Joshua 15:47)

President Bush's "image" in the Muslim world is only negative to those
adherents of Islam who use their religion as a cover to promote
their ideology of death and destruction.

Please remember that on 9/11, Yassar Arafat spoke on Arab Radio praising
the hijackers that slammed planes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

His supporters danced in the streets of Ramallah, rejoicing at our terrible loss.

Furthermore, the new leader of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas, while
perhaps better dressed and better educated than his predecessor, is nonetheless a
disciple of Arafat.  And so his goal remains the same, which is the recapture of
the Holy Land, with the holy city of Jerusalem as the ultimate jewel in the crown.
