"The Rime of the Ancient Mariner"
Child, amid the flowers at play,
While the red light fades away;
Mother, with thine earnest eye,
Father, by the breeze at eve
Called thy harvest work to leave;
Pray! Ere yet the dark hours be,
Lift the heart, and bend the knee.
Traveler, in the stranger's land,
Far from thine own household band;
Mourner, haunted by the tone
Of a voice from this world gone;
Captive, in whose narrow cell
Sunshine hath not leave to dwell;
Sailor, on the darkening sea;
Lift the heart and bend the knee.
Warrior, that from battle won,
Breathest now at the set of sun;
Woman, o'er the lowly plain,
Weeping on his burial plain,
Ye that triumph, ye that sigh,
Kindred by one holy tie,
Heaven's first star alike ye see;
Lift the heart, and bend the knee.

of the word, "apostasy" as it applies in 2 Thessalonians 2:3.
It seems we are seeing a sharp increase in apostasy within

But let not your hearts be troubled nor let them be afraid!

Hurricane Ian slammed into Florida's southwest coast yesterday
making landfall as a Category 4, almost 5 storm in intensity.
This morning Ian was downgraded to a tropical storm and is
now offshore over the warm waters of the ocean, where he could
regain strength and become a hurricane again. I pray this storm
will head away from land and out to sea!
Thanks again to dedicated weather-watcher Jewel Chesson
for this latest update on downgraded Hurricane Ian.
Please pray for the people in Florida and everyone
along the southeastern US coast in the path
of this still powerful tropical storm!

Catastrophic winds, rain, and flooding caught on camera as
Hurricane Ian unleashed his fury on the southwestern coast of
Florida earlier today. May God help those residents who chose
to ignore the warnings to evacuate in order to "ride out" the storm.

"God gave His only Son because He loves us and for no other reason.
Yet the enemy has programmed into our brains from a young age that
we have to earn God's love. We need to rewire ourselves (renew our minds)
because we have received faulty data from the enemy. We renew our
minds by filling it with the Word of God."

The Sunshine State is being ripped apart as Category 4 Hurricane Ian
made landfall this afternoon along the southwestern coast of Florida,
packing winds as high as 155 miles an hour and bringing a devastating
storm surge and flooding. May God be with everyone in Florida tonight.
"Now we have not received the spirit that belongs to the world,
but the Holy Spirit Who is from God, given to us that we might realize
and comprehend and appreciate the gifts of divine favor and blessing
so freely and lavishly bestowed on us by God.
And we are setting these truths forth in words not taught by human wisdom,
but taught by the Holy Spirit, combining and interpreting spiritual truths
with spiritual language to those who possess the Holy Spirit."
(1 Corinthians 2:12-13)
"The blackout took my neighborhood by surprise. Suddenly, in total
darkness, I inched my way to the bedside table and fumbled for
the flashlight. What frustration...it didn't work.
How useless-a flashlight that didn't function.
Just as useless is the person unable to function according to
God's divine plan. Why? Because God originally designed the human
spirit to contain the Holy Spirit. In the garden, Adam and Eve had
perfect oneness with God. The Holy Spirit lived in their human spirit
and enlightened every aspect of their lives.
Once they pronounced their "declaration of independence" from God,
however, sin came in and the Spirit went out. The pair were like a
flashlight without batteries; with no power on the inside, there was no
light on the outside. They spiraled downward into spiritual darkness.
Yet, God did not give up on all those who were to be born into that
same darkness. "The lamp of the Lord searches the spirit of man"
(Proverbs 20:27)
God desired to reunite the Holy Spirit with the human spirit
so that they could be one again.
When you feel the frustration of wandering in the dark, know that
the Lord has already provided the perfect guide for your life.
"For when He, the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all truth."
(John 16:13)
Your own personal Counselor, Conscience, Convictor, and Comforter
fills you souls-your mind, will and emotions-with perfect truth. He
teaches your mind, directs your will, and guides your emotions.
As a result, those who are joined to the Spirit better
understand spiritual things.
(1 Corinthians 2:14)
Like the flashlight, you were designed to shine; but you can never
shine with your own power. The Holy Spirit provides the power to
produce the light. And once you shine as you were intended to
shine, you will never be useless!"

Now when the time of fruit and gain is come
When apples hang above the orchard wall,
And from the tangle by the roadside stream
A scent of wild grapes fills the racy air,
Comes Autumn with her sunburnt caravan
Like a long gypsy train with trappings gay
And tattered colors of the Orient,
Moving slow-footed through the dreamy hills.
The woods of Wilton at her coming wear
Tints of Bokhara and Samarkand;
The maples glow with their Pompeian red,
The hickories with burnt Etruscan gold;
And while the crickets fife along her march,
Behind her banners burns the crimson sun.

"You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil, my cup runneth over."
(Psalm 23:5)
I want you to take notice that what God does for David and for everyone
whom He shepherds, as revealed in this verse, He does in the presence of
our enemies. It's important to understand that the presence of our enemies
does not prevent God from blessing us, providing for us, and doing
all that He's promised for us.
So many times when we are confronted with opposition and danger and
problems and pressures, our attitude would be: "If it weren't for the danger,
if it weren't for the opposition, if it weren't for the pressures, I know God
could help me, I know God could bless me." But I want you to understand
that God delights to bless us most in the midst of the pressures. It's in the
presence of our enemies that God provides His banquet for us.
And then He says to the enemies, "This is my provision for My child. You
can't touch it, you can't harm them, you can't take it from them." He provides
a table, He anoints our head with oil, the oil of joy in the Holy Spirit, and our
cup overflows. So, far from being deprived by the pressures of our enemies,
our abundance increases in the midst of the pressure
because the Lord is with us.
He is our Shepherd.

Many thanks to intrepid North Carolina weather-watcher Jewel Chesson
for this latest update on Tropical Storm Ian which is expected to strengthen
into a major hurricane early next week. Although where Ian will make landfall
is still unknown, the state of Florida is currently under a state of emergency.

The name "Ian" is Scottish Gaelic and means, "Gift of God".
I pray that this storm will truly be a blessing from the Lord

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
(Philippians 4:13)
In the struggle of life, with its turmoil and strife,
I feel my dependence on Thee;
Thou art all that I need- therefore pour out, I plead,
Thy Spirit, O Christ, in me.
The Spirit of Christ in me; The Spirit of Christ in me;
And so shall I be victorious and free,
Through the Spirit of Christ in me.
When surrounded by sin, and tempted within,
I know that defeated I'll be,
Unless Thou dost impart, in my innermost heart,
Thy Spirit, O Christ, in me.
The Spirit of Christ in me, The Spirit of Christ in me;
And so shall I be victorious and free,
Through the Spirit of Christ in me.
There's work I must do, and will see it through;
By grace more than conqu'ror I'll be.
When Thy love makes me bold, then all men shall behold
Thy Spirit, O Christ, in me.
The Spirit of Christ in me; The Spirit of Christ in me;
And so shall I be victorious and free,
Through the Spirit of Christ in me.

"Who shall ever separate us from Christ's love? Shall suffering
and affliction and tribulation? Or calamity or distress?
Or persecution or hunger or destitution,
or peril or sword?
Even as it is written, For Thy sake we are put to death
all the day long; we are regarded and counted as sheep
for the slaughter. Yet, amid all these things we are more
than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory
through Him Who loved us.
For I am persuaded beyond doubt that neither
death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities,
nor things impending and threatening nor
things to come, nor powers,
Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in
all creation will be able to separate us
from the love of God, which is in
Christ Jesus our Lord."

Today a question was asked of me-
"Grandma, how do you kneel to pray?"
This is what my grandson
(who's only three)
asked of me today!
"Your knees won't bend like they used to,
so you can't kneel on the floor.
There's so many things you used to do
that you can't do anymore.
"Now I can bring you ice for your tea
and go get the mail for you,
But Grandma, do you want me
to kneel down and pray for you, too?"
I told him, "I really don't have to kneel
or even bend my knee,
for it doesn't matter when I make an appeal
to God-He always hears me.
"All I have to do is close my eyes,
bow my head with respect
and God hears my prayers up there in the sky,
And He doesn't mind if I don't genuflect!
"For He knows just what is in my heart, Dear.
And what I ask of Him each day
is to watch over my loved ones down here.
So you see, I don't have to kneel to pray!"

(Hebrews 13:4)
According to an email I received today from Matt Staver of the Liberty Counsel,
in the state of Idaho, a 39 year old having sexual relations with a 13 year old is classified
as rape or lewd conduct with a minor, which is punishable by life in prison, as it well
should be, unless- the 39 year old perpetrator of the crime manages to marry his victim!
This is absolutely sickening and sounds completely insane, and yet, "marriages" like this
are happening, such in the case of Idaho resident, Shirley Perez, who was raped at the age
of twelve and forced by her own family to marry the 39 year old man who assaulted her.
Shirley bore the first of her rapist's five children when she was only fourteen years old.
Furthermore, her "husband" forbade her from finishing her education. When she
tried to return to school, he severely beat her after she was five minutes late while
returning home one day. Shirley never went back to school.
According to Matt Staver, the state of Idaho has the largest number
of child brides in the United States today!
"Not Without My Daughter" a 1991 movie based on a true story,
recounts the harrowing experience of an American woman, Betty Mahmoody,
(played by actress Sally Field) who escapes from her abusive husband in Iran,
after being tricked by him into visiting his family there.
What she initially thought to be a brief family vacation quickly turned
into a nightmare when Betty discovered her husband, Moody,( played by
actor Alfred Molina) had no intention of returning to America.
When she learns that her father has become seriously ill back home,
Moody tells Betty she can leave Iran to go and see him. However,
he refuses to allow their young daughter, Mahtob, to go with her.
Betty refused to leave her daughter behind and embarks on a
dangerous journey to escape from her husband and Iran.
Led across rugged terrain by total strangers, the
mother and daughter eventually reached Iran's border
with Turkey, and the safety of the U.S. Embassy there.
One of the main reasons for her willingness to undertake such
a dangerous risk was after Betty learned, through the man who
helped her to escape, that in some Muslim families like her husband's,
marriage between child brides and adult men was a traditional practice.
While this happens in Iran, it should never be allowed to happen
in the United States of America. By the way, I have to wonder,
where do all the "My body, My right" women's groups
stand on the issue of child brides?
You would think the feminists would be up in arms over this!
Instead, the silence has been deafening.
We Americans, who so value our liberty, and especially our
freedom of choice, cannot allow this evil perversion to become
legally sanctioned in this nation, which is what I fear will
happen if HR 8404, more commonly known as the
"Respect For Marriage Act" should eventually pass the Senate.
According to Mr. Staver, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY)
is leaning hard on Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) to "rally" her colleagues
around this bill, which seeks to redefine marriage and will offer
protection for pedophiles and other sexual deviants, as it will
override state laws, including age limits regarding marriage.
Susan Collins, along with fellow Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI)
have initiated a bi-partisan compromise in the form of an amendment
to HR 8404, however, according to Mr. Staver, their joint effort is
merely to garner more votes and will not protect Americans
with religious or conscience objections.
As I stated in an earlier post, this bill is totally unconstitutional.
Congress does not have any constitutional authority
to change the definition of marriage.
Furthermore, any member of Congress who has voted to support
HR 8404 is in violation of the oath they took to uphold and to defend
the United States Constitution when they were sworn into office.
The state of Holy Matrimony is a sacred union, instituted by God
between one man and one woman. The traditional family of
Husband-Father, Wife-Mother, and Children has been the
cornerstone of our free Constitutional Republic since
America's inception as a nation in 1776.
We need to protect and defend marriage and the family in America.
Although it is currently "on hold" until after the November elections
this year, if this evil bill eventually passes, I believe we will see our
nation, which is already teetering on the edge of political, economic,
and social collapse, deteriorate to the point of no return.
I would like to ask everyone reading this post and who cares
about the future of America to please consider taking the time
to call, email or fax their Congressional representatives today
and demand they vote "NO" on HR 8404.
May God continue to bless America.
"God will wipe away every tear from their eyes;
and death shall be no more, neither shall there be anguish
nor grief nor pain any more, for the old conditions and the
former order of things have passed away."
(Revelation 21:4)
"The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord
is the beginning of Wisdom, and the knowledge
of the Holy One is insight and understanding."
(Proverbs 9:10)
Refuse to be discouraged,
refuse to be distressed,
For when we are despondent,
our lives cannot be blessed.
For doubt and fear and worry
close the door to faith and prayer,
And there's no room for blessings
when we're lost in deep despair.
So remember when you're troubled
with uncertainty and doubt,
It is best to tell our Father
what our fear is all about,
For unless we seek His guidance
when troubled times arise,
We are bound to make decisions
that are twisted and unwise.
But when we view our problems
through the eyes of God above,
Misfortunes turn to blessings
and hatred turns to love.

This fiery anthem about small town gossip and hypocrisy became

who not only became an overnight country music sensation, but

In her book, "From Harper Valley To The Mountain Top"
Jeannie admits she almost did not record this song because
there was something about it that she did not like.
It's a good thing she changed her mind!
"The Lord is my Light and my Salvation-
whom shall I fear or dread? The Lord is the Refuge
and Stronghold of my life-of whom shall I be afraid?"
(Psalm 27:1)
God is my strong salvation;
What foe have I to fear?
In darkness and temptation,
My light, my help, is near:
Though hosts encamp around me,
Firm in the fight I stand;
What terror can confound me,
With God at my right hand?
Place on the Lord reliance;
My soul with courage wait;
His might thy heart shall strengthen,
His love thy joy increase;
Mercy thy days shall lengthen;
The Lord will give thee peace.
