"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
(Philippians 4:13)
In the struggle of life, with its turmoil and strife,
I feel my dependence on Thee;
Thou art all that I need- therefore pour out, I plead,
Thy Spirit, O Christ, in me.
The Spirit of Christ in me; The Spirit of Christ in me;
And so shall I be victorious and free,
Through the Spirit of Christ in me.
When surrounded by sin, and tempted within,
I know that defeated I'll be,
Unless Thou dost impart, in my innermost heart,
Thy Spirit, O Christ, in me.
The Spirit of Christ in me, The Spirit of Christ in me;
And so shall I be victorious and free,
Through the Spirit of Christ in me.
There's work I must do, and will see it through;
By grace more than conqu'ror I'll be.
When Thy love makes me bold, then all men shall behold
Thy Spirit, O Christ, in me.
The Spirit of Christ in me; The Spirit of Christ in me;
And so shall I be victorious and free,
Through the Spirit of Christ in me.

Victoria Booth Demarest was the granddaughter of Salvation Army
founder William Booth, who gave her heart to Jesus at the tender age of six.
She later conducted revival meetings in the Methodist church in

In 1934, she conducted an "America For God" crusade and a decade later, in the
aftermath of World War II, founded the World Association of Mothers for Peace in 1946.
