Flashback Friday: For The Good Times

Recorded in March, 1970  "For The Good Times" is perhaps the most
saddest country music love song ever recorded in modern times.
According to composer-singer Kris Kristofferson, the song
was inspired by the ending of a relationship in his own life.

Although this song has been recorded by a number of artists over the
years, including Kristofferson, Elvis Presley, Al Green, and Perry Como,
the smooth, incomparable vocals of the legendary Ray Price own this song.

"For The Good Times" topped the country and western chart for one week,
and was # 11 on the pop singles chart after its release in June, 1970.

At the 1971 Academy of Country Music Awards, the song won in the category
of "Song of the Year" for Kris Kristofferson and "Single of the Year" for Ray Price.
