From the archives of The 700 Club, Reverend Pat Robertson,
who died this week at the age of 93, interviews one of
the greatest heroines of 20th century Christianity,
Dutch Holocaust survivor Corrie ten Boom.
Her best-selling book, "The Hiding Place" tells the story
of Corrie and her family, who opened their hearts and their
home to hide their Jewish neighbors, and to shelter members
of the Dutch Resistance fighting against the Nazis during WWII.
One of Corrie's greatest joys, while languishing in a
Gestapo prison after being betrayed by an informer,
which led to a subsequent raid by the Gestapo on
the ten Boom house, was finding out that after
the raid, the Jews secreted in "The Hiding Place"
a partitioned upstairs closet in her home, had all
been rescued and relocated to other hiding places.
Corrie's tremendous courage and sorely tested faith
in the face of seemingly insurmountable human
and spiritual evil has always been an inspiration
to me in my own walk with the Lord.
My heart and prayers are with the Robertson family.
May God comfort you in this time of sorrow and loss.
