In His Own Words: Honoring John Birch/ A Legacy Of Courage And Conviction

John Morrison Birch (May 28, 1918-August 25, 1945 was a United States
Army Air Force military captain, OSS field agent in China during WWII,
and a Baptist minister and missionary, whose aspirations included 
 bringing the saving message of the Gospel to the people of the central 
  Asian nation of Turkestan after his war service ended.

John was killed in a confrontation with Chinese Communist soldiers only
ten days after the war ended.  He was posthumously awarded the
Army Distinguished Service Medal.

The John Birch Society is an American Christian, anti-communist organization
and was named in his memory by co-founder Robert H.W. Welch Jr. in 1958.
John's parents joined the JBS as honorary lifetime members.

John Birch was an American hero and an ardent anti-communist.
 He is considered the first casualty of the Cold War. 
May he rest in eternal peace.
